Well, that man facing charges this morning,
accused of sex trafficking a teen out of his Suffolk County home.
Police tell us that this has been going on for two years.
News 12 Long Island's Jonathan Gordon is live in Brentwood
this morning with more on that investigation now.
Jonathan.
Rich, Aaron, I mean, these are unbelievably serious allegations.
For the last two years, Suffolk County police say
that this man trafficked an underage girl from inside
of his home here behind me at Fort MacArthur Avenue in Brentwood.
And now this morning, Suffolk County Police are expanding their
investigation into what was actually happening behind closed doors.
Take a look at your screen here.
This is Luis Parada.
Investigators say that he began trafficking this teen girl
about two years ago when the victim was just 15 years old.
She's now 17.
Suffolk County Police say Parada raped the girl,
then had other men pay him to have sex with her.
Two weeks ago, the Suffolk County Police 3rd Squad contacted
the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit
after detectives believed the teenager
was being trafficked here in Brentwood.
Yesterday morning, officers executed
a search warrant at Parada's Brentwood home,
and that's when they seized a 1987 Winnebago, 22 cell phones,
a replica firearm, a machete, electronics, and other forensic evidence.
Suffolk County Police charged Parada with third-degree rape,
sex trafficking of a minor,
and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He'll be arraigned later on this morning.
Two other Brentwood men are also facing drug charges this morning.
Investigators are looking into whether more charges will
be filed against all three men.
And again, this morning, they are asking if anyone has any information
about what may have been happening inside of this Brentwood home
to reach out to the Suffolk County Police
Human Trafficking Investigations Unit.
This is an ongoing investigation,
and they are still working this morning
to potentially bring additional charges against these men.
We'll have more as we go throughout the rest of the morning.
For now, we're in Brentwood, Suffolk County, Jonathan Gordon, News 12.
A scary story for parents this morning.
Jonathan, thank you.
