Obama, Harris campaign in Georgia ahead of midterms

To drive even more voters to the polls, Democrats are bringing in two prominent leaders who made history during their terms. Former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Kamala Harris will be in Atlanta starting today in support of gubernatorial candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms and incumbent U.S. Senator John Ossoff. And Good Day's Mark Teichner is live in Midtown Atlanta with what we know about it all. Mark, good morning. Well, good morning. And kind of dueling campaigns when you think about it. You've got these bigwig Democrats that are coming into town. And obviously, we've already had not one but two different visits from current President Trump stumping for Republicans. Today, former President Obama brings his roadshow to Atlanta. Mr. Obama will hold an afternoon rally trying to mobilize Democratic voters to head to the polls and elect Keisha Lance Bottoms and John Ossoff as Georgia's governor and senator. This comes after similar Obama events held in both Ohio and Michigan. I feel change is in the air. Again, that's what I'm feeling right now. Not to be outdone, President Trump has been crisscrossing the nation in support of Republican candidates, including two visits here in Georgia, one of them over the weekend in Perry, both of those trips in the hopes of electing Rick Jackson and Mike Collins. With these two people, it's going to boom like never, ever before. And I'm going to help them make it. I'm going to help them make it, Paul. Former President Obama seems to have hit a nerve with his criticism of the current president's efforts to remake the White House and other D.C. locations. And there's gold. The White House is looking like Saddam Hussein opened a cheese cake factory. Donald Trump spends a lot of his time fixing up the White House. Isn't that a nice thing to do? In addition to President Obama's trip today, you've got Vice President former Vice President Kamala Harris. She's going to have a multi-day stop here in Georgia. That's going to start Thursday and continue at least into Friday. So expect these visits to continue as we get closer and closer to that midterm election, of course, next Tuesday. Reporting live from Midtown, I'm Mark Teichner for Good Day Atlanta. Some heavy hitters for sure. Thanks, Mark.
