California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom announced Friday that the Golden State will remain a part of the World Health Organization's network, even though the Trump administration just completed the United States' withdrawal from WHO. In other words, he's committed to signing his sovereignty over to WHO in case of any pandemic. I don't know if this is legal. I would doubt that it is, and I'm sure that it will be brought to the U.S. Supreme Court. The Epoch Times reported Newsom, who confirmed in October that he's considering a 2028 presidential bid, revealed a new collaboration after meeting with the WHO director at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Newsom's decision goes against the Trump administration's approach to the agency, which is managed by the United Nations. I don't know if he has the ability to do something like this. Trump, a critic of the WHO's pandemic responses, has wanted the United States to exit the WHO ever since his first term in office.
