Palermo Market Food Tour!! Sicily’s Wildest Street Food!!

This is the ultimate Palermo market food tour, and today I’m diving into two of Sicily’s most legendary markets, Ballarò and Mercato del Capo, to experience Palermo through its food, people, and culture. I’m joined by Fernando Massana from Rockin Kitchen Sicily as we eat our way through the streets, talk with local vendors, and uncover the stories behind one of the greatest street food cities in Italy.

We’re trying everything from pani ca’ meusa, Palermo’s famous spleen sandwich, and crispy panelle to sfincione, fresh ricotta, cannoli, grilled octopus, fried seafood, prickly pears, fresh fruit, and some seriously adventurous Sicilian street food. From mystery meats and offal to beautiful seafood and desserts made right in front of us, these markets are raw, loud, chaotic, and completely unforgettable.
But this is more than people stuffing their faces at a market. We’re talking to the vendors about their lives, the history of these neighborhoods, the challenges these traditional markets face, and what Palermo’s food tells us about the city itself. This is Sicilian street food, Italian food, local markets, history, people, and culture in one massive Palermo food adventure. Let’s eat.
