An Appraiser Tries to Save a Husband From Trouble

A broken Fenton uranium glass lampshade turns a routine appraisal into an unexpected insurance problem!

What happens when a valuable piece of vintage glass breaks during an appraisal fair? We're getting a front-row view of appraisals in action at Rusty Trunk Antiques and Vintage in Ponderay, Idaho! We help one unfortunate fellow escape the doghouse after a Fenton uranium glass lampshade breaks, then discover an intriguing assortment of antiques, vintage treasures, and unexpected finds.

Northern Idaho’s old homesteads and growing retirement communities bring fascinating pieces of the past to these appraisal fairs. We examine an ingenious old-school “power chair,” antique dolls, mid-century wall art, and a striking Blenko bottle in 1950s Jonquil yellow. An insurance question about an antiquarian book collection also reveals how professional appraisals help protect treasured family heirlooms. Each item brings its own story, and some have surprising values or uses!

We're revisiting this memorable appraisal fair in Northern Idaho as we prepare for three more appraisal events in three different towns this weekend! If you enjoy discovering forgotten treasures, learning about antique and vintage values, and hearing the stories behind cherished possessions, join us for another fascinating day of appraisals. Check the Community tab on our channel's home page for details about this weekend's appearances.
