I Spent Over $2,000 at a Private Estate Pick
A private estate pick opens the door to an exceptional collection, and we get to choose what comes with us.
At an undisclosed location in Louisville, Kentucky, an old home is filled with vintage and antique smalls collected over many years. The owners are downsizing, giving us the opportunity to select quality pieces to take west to Custer’s Fall Antique Show in Spokane, Washington. From champlevé and Murano glass to unexpected curiosities, there is plenty here to examine.
Back home, we unbox our selections and share with you: Latticino, Lalique, paperweights, parrots, Orient and Flume art glass, antique Pierrot clowns, funeral flags, Billikens, and more reveal the thoughtful collecting behind this estate. Some pieces are beautiful, some are unusual, and each gives us something interesting to discuss as we decide what may appeal most to collectors at the show.
This is only a taste of what we are finding as we travel toward our next show. We share these quality vintage and antique smalls before they reach the sales floor, along with the details that make them worth a closer look and the surprises that make an estate pick like this so much fun.
