Zac Taylor just revealed the truth about the Bengals..
Oct 14, 2026
Zach Taylor just revealed the truth about the Bengals,
and the win was not enough in
Miami as we break down what went wrong
that almost let them blow the lead to a very weak
team in the NFL.
We're diving into all of that today here on Bengals Digest,
so be sure to stay tuned until
the very end.
We appreciate you guys joining us today,
wherever you may be, because we've got a lot to dive
into today.
So we appreciate you guys joining, appreciate you guys subscribing.
We're getting very close.

so we appreciate appreciate you guys tuning along
being there with us along the ride
so we dive in today first thing bringing up some injury news
for the team so Swayze Bozeman did break
his forearm according to Zach Taylor and he is going
to be going on IR so that's brutal
but in the meantime they did sign Jack Kaiser to their uh
they claimed him to their practice squad
as of right now they claimed him from the Jacksonville
Jaguars so bring in a linebacker in to fill
in for Swayze Bozeman during his absence I really
like Bozeman like what we've seen out of him out
of him up to this point we're gonna have to find
out if Kaiser is a good replacement
but that's not necessarily the focus of today's video but
before we get into all of that,
I did want to bring up how the odds are looking, shaping up
here on Kalshi for tonight's game, the Rams versus the Bills.
And currently the Rams are very
heavily favored in this one, but I'm personally feeling the Bills.
I feel like they've been
looking hot. They've looked more reliable
as a team than the Rams have up to this point.
So $25 will actually pay out $61.46 on Kalshi.

shi for sponsoring today's video we chug along looking
at just the fact that this win was not
clean enough against the Miami Dolphins
this should have been a blowout win we all know it
we were looking forward to this game
and it just honestly it was a little bit rocky there were some
things that they really needed to clean up
so recently um when you look at the or when you
look at the box score for this game we'll pull it
up make it full screen so you guys can see all
that pause it if you need to there's a lot to break down here
but they did only end up beating
them by just seven points
and you look at the comparisons on paper looks pretty good got Jamar
Chase involved Tanner Hudson got a touchdown P. Ryan got
a touchdown Gasecki got a touchdown
Barrett Carter leading.
He got a sack.
Jonathan Allen got a sack.
Boyd Maffey got a sack
The defensive players got a little bit involved.
Some tackle for losses in there.
It was a decent game overall,
but there were still some things that just, it's a little
bit scary, all right?
I'm not going to lie, a little bit scary
Some things they definitely need to clean up.
Joe Burrow is on the up and up
He's looking very good.
there's his projections in terms of the next few games
that we're looking at um and so i mean he's
he's looked decent he's looked good in this game he's
a big reason that they won this game and
there's a quick graph on where he throws
the ball where he's kind of had success dicing up the
defenses but altogether there's more to this team than Joe Burrow
and some things that they really
need to look at as you look onward they've got
an interesting schedule coming up so this
bye week this week then they're going to Baltimore
to play the Ravens now this game is huge we're
diving into the matchups a little bit as we get closer
to that game this game is going to be the
true tell I think of what this team is what
their identity is if they can compete against these
high caliber teams we saw they did falter against
the Jacksonville Jaguars who look really good
right now. And the Titans and Falcons don't look as good.
So likely going to get a little bit of a
break before taking on another divisional opponent in the Steelers.
But here's what Zach Taylor had
to say in the post game talking about this Dolphins game.
He said, there's a lot of frustrating things
on our end. We had two personal fouls.
We fumbled twice in the red zone. We caught a kickoff on the
four yard line. We had a penalty on a field goal
that led to a touchdown, gave them four points
and gave up over 200 yards rushing there is plenty
that they need to clean up and he's taking
accountability for not only the coaching
but just the players and the way that they've played up to
this point and the fact that they really just didn't come away
with what they should um there's
a lot to digest here no pun intended and uh
and a lot to clean up still as we go into the coming
weeks especially the bye week it's probably
a perfect time to go into this bye week not only
due to injuries but things that they need to clean up
and here's what Joe Burrow had to say
we ran it efficiently i think just
not good enough all around team-wide i think if we want to be the
team that we think we're gonna be you gotta
be better than that and that i mean that leads to
them needing to be smarter um two fumbles
in the red zone a couple of personal fouls that hurt us
hurt our field position gave them points
on the board we got to be smarter so mistakes gotta stop
i mean discipline is the number one thing
and it's good to hear that Zach Taylor is taking
accountability for this talking about how they need
to improve this because let's face it in the
past these things have kind of slid under the radar
not really addressed and the team gets hurt
because of it and so that leads us into the next segment
of the run defense specifically this has
to be fixed allowing 200 yards on the ground
when you're facing you know a running quarterback
like Malik Willis you know through four games he's rushed
for over 100 yards and a touchdown I mean
he made some big plays and Zach Taylor said it
this way he made some plays with his feet
so I know the rushing yards are going to come up
on some big quarterback runs that he had as well
you can't discount that anytime you play
a guy we're about to play a guy in two weeks that can
do the same thing I mean Malik Willis is a mobile quarterback yes
but Lamar Jackson is a guy who
is known as the most elite running quarterback in the league
and he runs all over teams he runs
like a running back back there
and the Bengals know this he's a familiar opponent but you got
a scheme for this when they're allowing it
to Malik Willis it does scare me a little bit when
they're when they're about to play the Baltimore Ravens in two weeks
so they really got to improve
there I am all with you there Zach
so boy I'm off I came out and said this for us right now
the biggest thing is staying on track making sure we
do our job as a d-line uh as a front
to create pressure pressure for the defensive backs
in the back end we talked about it in the
last episode how that first interception big courtesy
to the pass rush so things like that
you can make plays with it but um we're trying to buy us time
so we can get there uh there on
the back end so big things they need to look out
for contain the quarterback on scrambles especially
Lamar Jackson we know that's coming we know what to expect
so you got to be prepared for it
close those running lanes before they come explosive plays
and improve the gap discipline
i think that was a big thing that i saw a lot
in this game were they getting home on a few of them
yes were they still getting pressure yes
but this gap discipline really needed to be worked on
especially in that running game the pass rush looks
a little bit better run defense that front
four there should be no excuses for the amount
of gap issues that they have and overall i mean a
familiar problem we we gotta look at tackling
and some self-inflicted mistakes gave miami a way back
we know this we talked about it zach taylor
as i mentioned talked about this so they made it harder
They had two red zone fumbles,
and then the penalty added for four points,
and then the late finish, it came down to the wire.
They let Miami get back into this game,
and that's just something that cannot happen anymore.
The good thing is we've got a reliable kicker in Evan McPherson.
He's been just balling out.
I mean, I just want to give credit where credit's due.
Nine for nine, 100% on the year.
He's beating records.
He's looking good.
Jamar Chase came out and said this in the postgame.
He said, I would agree with him.
we've been doing it it's been dumb penalties it ain't like it ain't
been like something we ain't
been trying to do we uh it's been penalties on ourselves
and we can control it's not just
holding penalties unsportsmanlike conduct
penalties stupid penalties basically is what
he's saying it's just all the all the above at the end of the day
so we got to hold ourselves
accountable and fix those opportunities got
to stay at it at the end of the day we're doing it
i'm not gonna lie we do it we did it at the end
of the game we got all the way down just got to
find a way to finish at the goal line.
And I think that's the big point. And I agree with that. But
you know, Joe Burrow, you got to score a touchdown
and you get to the 10 yard line to close it out.
You got to capitalize on these opportunities
that they're giving you, especially on a weaker
defense. And it really came down to an onside kick.
You don't want to be in that spot.
So what things have to change during the bye?
Well, there's quite a few, but first thing,
protect the ball in scoring territory.
You got to eliminate those personal fouls. It all comes
down to discipline and coaching staff
and all that fix kickoff decisions and field position
and stop handing opponents free points they really got
to wrap up the special teams too
i mean we talked about it there um and it's just it's just
a lot that they've got to they got to
fix the run game is a positive that they had
in this game that they really could build on though
i mean Samaje Perine had a solid game
with 68 yards on 14 carries had two targets 10 reception
yards uh two receptions solid game
for Samaje Perine it's a little disappointing that we're
bringing up Perine and we're not bringing up uh chase brown in this one
but that's something we
got to talk about more in the future um but he
is trending upwards in his rushing yards in terms of
the past five games i mean you look
at those numbers since week one this is by far his his
career or his not career
but his season best with 20 yards coming in week one and since then he
hasn't even broke 10 so maybe that is a trend
that we're looking at heading forward and Zach
Taylor came out and said this I think we ran
the ball well last week was last week we put that one
behind us I thought we had a good week of practice
but our linemen really came off the ball during
practice I felt confident coming to this game in terms
of the running game and so they got Baltimore
next week. He says we're never satisfied.
This is Samaje Perine speaking. But it was a step in
the right direction. There's a lot of things
that we can clean up, but it's a good starting point.
And I think that is a moral of today's episode
is that there is a lot that they got to clean up.
There is. I mean, they've got Baltimore in two weeks
and you don't want to see these issues
continue to mount on top of each other, continue to,
you know, just build and really lead them
down a dark path because they got to take this bye week
and really recoup we've got some signings
we've got a lot more to talk about
so be sure to stay tuned here on Bengals Digest as we dive
into the bye week headfirst we'll have it all
for you here on Bengals Digest
