Denver Broncos Get GREAT News Before Cardinals Matchup...
Oct 24, 2026
Oh my goodness, we went out
and found the biggest Cardinals creator we possibly could, and we did.
He is our main man, Mike. We talked
to him after training camp last year, and he covers his team every day.
We've got a ton to jump into, man. How
are you feeling about the Cardinals this season?
I'm feeling all right. It has been a year. It's crazy. It's crazy that,
yeah, it's been a while since I've been on this channel.
But yeah, I'm feeling decent. I mean, obviously,
with this win over the Rams, we're feeling a little bit better, right?
Because we're 1-4 coming into the Rams game, upsetting them, now 2-4.
So obviously, whenever you get a win,
you're coming up a little bit more excited.
Heading over to this next week.
And I'm not sure if you guys know this,
but Larry Fitzgerald, he's getting inducted to
the Ring of Honor for State Farm Stadium.
So a lot of Cardinals fans hopefully will show up.
Fingers crossed.
We'll see.
Yeah.
And I mean, I feel like they're due for one at home.
I think I read a 14 game home losing streak.
So it's been almost a year.
Yeah.
So of all times, like, you know, they're going to be hyped.
But Broncos absolutely need to get this game
and get this thing turned around.
So I've got questions because I don't think I've seen a team
that has looked so good and so bad.
I want to dissect each part.
Do you want to talk about the good or the bad first?
Which questions do you want?
Let's talk about, let's go positive.
Let's go positive.
All right.
So let's talk positive.
What happened defensively to take like one
of the most high-powered offenses
last week in the Rams and hold them to what?
16 points.
Like what did you guys do?
What did you change?
Because 49ers, like these teams are throwing all this,
all these points up and yards up.
What did you do last week well against the Rams on defense?
Well, I mean, we came into that game
and our defense was averaging, you know, giving up
about 30 plus a game.
So I think there was not a lot of Cardinals fans
that were very excited about this, especially
when you're coming, you know, with the Rams
and they just lost so that we all thought
they were coming for blood.
But the big difference that we did on the
defensive side of the ball was we just blipped
the living heck out of Matthew Stafford.
I mean, we used Bud Baker the way that he should be used.
I mean, for the longest time we were getting on Nick Foles,
like you've got to use him.
Stop putting him in coverage 99.9% of his time.
I mean, at this point in his career,
we all love Bud Baker here, right, in Arizona.
But, like, you've got to use him
to his strengths, and that is as a playmaker.
Put him in the box, set him on for a blitz,
have him as a sinking missile, and, you know, disrupt timing.
And that's exactly what they did in this game.
It started off in the beginning of the game.
And then Matthew Stafford, I mean,
he's still a really good-slash-great quarterback.
So, of course, he's going to be able to adjust.
And I think that's the reason why this
game became actually more of a game.
But that offense looked really, really not great.
Now, I don't know if it's because Michael Floyd.
I mean, obviously we have him as the head coach now.
He was the defensive coordinator over there.
It almost kind of felt like we were always a step ahead
because we knew what they were going to do,
whether it was like that fourth down to try to convert.
And it was going to be like that fullback slash tight end.
I don't know what the heck happened there.
And then there was another one where
they tried to do like a fake screen,
but then they moved it on over to the other side with the Kyron.
We blew that up as well.
So it almost kind of feel like we were a step ahead the whole time.
But yeah, blitzing was what helped them not look very good.
Dang, I had not put that because I was panicking.
like dude this defense just figured things out
but hopefully for us as broncos fans that's what
you know he kind of had the inside track but even
when i look at some of the offenses that have put
up a ton of yardage on you and stuff there's
been some fluke like that hook and ladder play that was
an 80 yard play there has been some flukiness
so do you still feel like do you feel like you have
the pieces on defense to slow down
this broncos offense oh you know probably not to be real with
you i mean obviously when you when you're down Will Johnson
and i don't think he was you know
I mean, we were all expecting him to take a big jump this year, right?
But unfortunately, he got hurt within
the first couple weeks of the season with the neck injury.
We don't exactly know how that's going to shake out.
He's most likely done for the season.
But we got pieces.
It's just it's not fully there yet, right?
Like Walter Nolan, which right now he's
going through his own injury right now.
So we're figuring out if he's going to
be available to go this coming weekend.
We got him.
We got Mack Wilson Sr.
Josh Swett is seeming to finally now starting to turn it on.
He wasn't there in training camp.
And that's what I'm attributed.
That's why he's had such a slow start.
But this was probably one of his best games
in the last couple of games was his best game.
So hopefully he's starting to kind of get
into the rhythm like we got pieces.
It's just I don't know, man,
like I feel like we lack a lot of depth within this defense.
So like whenever we switch the people out,
you can tell like you can definitely tell.
I mean, I like our defense.
It's just I don't think they're the bottom of the barrel,
but they're definitely not top 10.
And I know that's kind of like the middle mark.
The only saving grace that I would say right now
is that Bo Nix is struggling.
so if the Arizona Cardinals doesn't I guess expose
that side of it all then I feel like that
would be a failure on our defensive coordinator side
because like there's obviously a reason why
Sean Payton's being asked about
the quarterback state right because Sean because
I know Bo Nix hasn't been as the Bo Nix
that we thought we were going to see last year now
we'll see what happens here right obviously
different defenses different game plans coming
into the week so we'll see how that shakes out
but I'm a little I don't know it's hard to explain
our defense like when they're going they're going
but yeah yeah yeah well that that's let's switch
the other side of the ball the flashes the good things
that we've seen obviously drop in 30 points
on the Niners that's an incredible defense 26
on the Chargers in a win 24 on the Giants what have
you done when this offense is clicking what makes it click
the run game that has to be the number
one thing you got to start with the run game
when whenever you get a run game you can obviously open
up the play action and throw the ball down
the field um one thing I guess the big criticism I
have about our offense is that it's very very i'm not gonna say dink
and dunk but they they like to
keep their offense on the field to keep
your offense off the field like they try to do that
to the point which if it works it works
but like if you can't capitalize on these touchdowns like
they didn't wasn't able to do against the the rams like
that can kind of bite you in the butt
you know later on right so like that's one thing
that i've noticed with the Mike Macdonald offense
that they love to get three, four yards,
keep the offense on the field.
And then obviously if there's an explosive
that goes on, they'll take the chance they can.
But it seems like they live off of
obviously having the run game going.
I mean, if that gets going,
that opens up play action and stuff like that.
But they love to kind of nibble, right?
And then take the explosive.
If that doesn't execute,
then the offense usually is in a bad state.
But again, our offense, like this is a weird team.
Like I'm going to be really weird.
Like we didn't know we were going to win against the Rams.
We were going to beat the Chargers.
like we don't know what team is out there it's just what
the game plan is what these coaches
think that they're going to be able to expose
and if it works then hey we got a chance to win on
sunday but if they doesn't and the players can't execute
then we can be dealing a world where we're
giving up another 30 points like it's just it's
so weird to put a you know finger on this team
in general to be real with you dude I were feeling
the same way in Denver right now that
we don't know what this team is yet
because of the gauntlet that we've played and I get the
criticism of Bo Nix, but I still think like he's played six of the,
or five of the top 10 defenses
in the NFL. And the, the one that wasn't
in the top 10 was the Chargers and it's a divisional
matchup. So I think we'll both find out a ton about
our teams on Sunday. Jeremiah Love, what
have you liked when you've seen him and is he playing?
And then who's this bam, bam kid who
I'd never heard of running all over. Yeah.
So let's start with Jeremiah Love. I like him.
I think the problem that we're dealing with right now
is that the offense is still trying to get
his footing I don't think the offensive line has done
a great job in you know run blocking to open
up some holes for a said Jeremiah Love he
is the number one guy right now unfortunately he dealt
with an ankle injury preseason
and then he had another ankle injury I believe in like a week
three so on the other ankle right on the other ankle exactly
so Matt LaFleur ended up pulling
him out or not pulling him up but not having him play versus the Rams
and to him it's like he wants
to get him right because the way
that he plays obviously he plants his foot down and you don't
have that it kind of takes away a big crucial part
of your game because you like to kind of
like cut and do stuff like that like he's
an explosive running back he he's looked okay i
mean but the thing is like i don't really fully
blame him i think it's more the offensive line
more than him but there is obviously
a split share between him as well as Tyler Allgeier as well
so it's hard to really get a grasp
of jeremiah love now i did hear before we actually jumped
onto this that it's trending that jeremiah love probably will
not play again versus the denver
broncos yeah but again bam night right
so let's talk about him a guy that was with michael fleur
in the jets days he was always a kind of a guy
that was like not really ever going to make the
roster he did a lot of good stuff for the past couple years
for the cardinals we put him in the
practice squad he made it onto this roster
for the arizona cardinals and he's just kind of waiting
for his opportunity and honestly what i've seen
so far from bam night compared to the jeremiah love
and the the four game sample size
and tyler allgeier i'm gonna be real dude i feel like he's probably
the most explosive running back we got right now i don't know if that's
because jeremiah love still
needs to heal up his ankle that's very well a possibility
but bam knight is playing like he's
taking advantage of the opportunities like i don't
think i've seen jeremiah love find a hole and
explode the way that bam knight has done
so far now again it's still early in the season right
now i'm not saying bam knight's coming
for jeremiah love's job no i don't think that's the
case but they are trying to do right by jeremiah love
and if it is keeping them out for one more
game, because they're not going to be putting
him on IR. So I would say maybe this is
probably the most, and then maybe following versus the Dallas Cowboys
will probably bring him back. But Bam Knight
has absolutely taken advantage of all the
opportunities. Now, if you take a look at the stats,
it's been inflated by that 30-yard dash
they ended up doing against the Rams, but he's
been playing very, very well. If we can get that
same Bam Knight, I think we got
a chance here, man. I think we got a chance.
Man, well, all I saw, Jeremy,
I love preseason highlights, and I was like,
that is Adrian Peterson 2.0.
i think like if he's fully right you have
a generational running back there and great i just
i think you can make the call to lafleur
and just say hey we don't need love this week let's just
broncos need this win all right talk to me about jacoby brissett
when have you felt like he's a
an actual starting quarterback in the league
and when have you felt like hey it's time to pull the
plug and get Carson in there um i guess let's take this back to 2025
when when Kyler Murray got hurt
right um when he came in for that uh Colts
and Packers game it really felt like man he's actually
able to move the ball up and down the field
because what we're struggling with now as an
offense is what we were struggling with Kyler Murray
for the longest time like with those
first two games after Kyler Murray got hurt we
were seeing explosives explosives explosive right
but throwing the ball down the field chunk plays now Jacoby Brissett
is is playing a little bit more
timid and i'm not sure if that's because of the Michael
Fuller offense like i was mentioning earlier
they like to stay on the field as much as they can
offensively to keep your offense off the field
and that's probably to give some
sort of I guess help to the defense
because this defense is very very prone to where
they can give you a solid 30 minutes
but they can break and that's probably what they're trying to do
just keep the offense on the field get some first downs here
and there but to be real with you I think
a lot of the fan base is kind of turned on Jacoby
Brissett at this very moment since he's been the starter
I think he's what now 3
in 14 3 in 15
something like that so like it's not been
very very good in terms of obviously the wins
but i mean he's a solid backup quarterback i mean
that's what he is he's a backup quarterback
and he was supposed to be the bridge guy i think right
now Cardinals fans are ready to see Carson Beck
but because if you look at the state of the
division right now for the Cardinals believe it
or not we're like one game away from the second part
or second behind Seattle so like we're still in it like believe it
or two and four we're still in
it and it's crazy because we're the NFC West we're supposed
to be one of the best divisions out there
And although I still believe we got a lot
of the best teams in the football league,
especially on the NFC side, but like, this is so weird to be here.
So I think the Michael Fuller and Monty Osborne,
the Arizona Cardinals organization, they're
going to continue to ride Jacoby Brissett
because A, they did pay him, right?
They don't want to look like they got pie in
their face, especially if they're paying
him on the bench.
So they do feel like he's the best guy to give them the wins.
And I think that if we do ever see Carson back,
it probably would be when the season
is kind of blown up.
and so it's probably going to be later on in the season
if we did do that, but the season would have
to be done. And we got these next two
games with you and then the Dallas Cowboys as well.
So I think Michael Fuller sort
is seeing a path, right? I'm not going to say we're
going to win, but they're seeing a path here. So
they're going to continue with Jacoby Brissett, although
that's not what I would do, but
it's going to be their decision. Obviously, wins
trump everything. I can carry two S's
about the draft pick myself.
I want to win. We've gone
straight losses with multiple years, so I
I do want to win.
Yeah, you're right.
Which makes this scary
because I think we thought y'all would be out of it.
And then you beat the Chargers week one
and we're like, man, this game
that we kind of circled as a bye week isn't.
Let's do a quick matchup breakdown
brought to you by DraftKingsports.
Talk to me about McBride,
one of the best tight ends in the game, I think.
Who is limited and what have they done?
Have they guard him with a linebacker, with a corner?
Like if we want to shut down McBride,
what do the Denver Broncos need to do?
I mean, you're going to have to find a guy
that is more physical than him
and it's such a mismatch yeah exactly it's such a mismatch because
i mean we've seen slot corners we've seen linebackers try
to do it the problem is that
yeah if you get the physical part you
also need to have the speed part down and it's so hard to
get that combination stop has said trey mcbride
so like the way that i describe it especially when
i do my own previews i don't think you're going
to be able to stop him you're going to try to
contain him that's the best thing you can
do right force Jacoby Brissett to make a bad decision
just like the Rams ended up doing when they were
forcing it to Trey McBride and they threw a really bad
ball that was kind of in an out route
but under threw it and they just
kind of jumped it and got an interception. You're going to
probably have to focus more on the Jacoby Brissett
side and to stop Trey McBride
from getting his yards because he's
going to eat. He's going to get the receptions. He's
going to get the yardage, especially if you don't have a match
matchup. He's going to be a matchup nightmare
for any team out there. So
I don't know. That's a tough one, man. I don't know if you guys
have anybody because actually the question
Patrick Santana, is he going to be playing?
Yeah. Doubtful. I would say doubtful.
I think they're going to keep him out one more week,
especially with how good his backups kind
of did last week against Seattle. But yeah,
to your point of like, Hey,
worry more about Brissett and let him just don't let him beat
you. You know, that's kind of what the Broncos did with JSN.
He had over a hundred yards,
but we didn't let him in the end zone and, and they Darnold throw some,
throw some stuff away at the end.
And that is your DraftKings sports matchup breakdown.

i'm thinking Vance Joseph, a kind
of revenge game after getting fired, i'm thinking Zach Allen coming
back oh yeah but on the other side
of the ball you got Nathaniel Hackett, his revenge game after
all the mean stuff Sean Payton said about him, i never count out
LaFleur, so give me your
score prediction who wins this game you know before
the Rams game i did have this as a loss
um i do see a path that the Cardinals can win
this game, i'm Larry Fitzgerald being inducted
i'm gonna go with the Cardinals here
and it might be the the homerism but at some point we got to
break that losing streak at some point i say 23 17 Cardinals come up
with a W respect it absolutely
bogus wild but i respect it i respect it
