Traveling in a motorhome through Chilean Patagonia led us to one of the most breathtaking campsites of our entire journey along the Carretera Austral, Route 7. We detoured towards Futaleufú on Route 235 to discover a secluded spot on the shores of Lake Yelcho, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, crystal-clear waters, and a sunset that looks like a painting.

🌧️ We left La Junta in the rain and sleet to venture onto less-traveled roads.
🚐 We camped by the Río Oeste in Villa La Vanguardia and reunited with great friends from the road.
🌉 We crossed a suspension bridge that defies the heights with Honu and Kai. 🏘️ We visited Villa Santa Lucía and learned firsthand about its story of resilience after the devastating flood.
🏔️ We arrived at the imposing Lake Yelcho and parked Matilda in front of a pristine landscape that left us speechless.
