Volkanovski vs. Evloev: UFC Odds and Fight Prediction

You look at Volkanovski, and he really has put together one of the best careers ever, right, in the UFC. He's been one of the most durable champions, and, you know, he's defended the belt a bunch of times. You know, super impressive career, and this would just be another, you know, another massive win for him. And he keeps the championship, but he's dealing with a fighter that's never lost before as well. And despite Volkanovski's pedigree, the fact of the matter is this fight is minus 110 for both fighters, Tom. Yeah, and I think there's a lot of value on Volkanovski in this spot. Movsar is a very good fighter. He's got pretty decent stand-up, better stand-up than you would think for a guy that is really known for his wrestling. But I just don't really see what he does to Volk in this matchup. I mean, we've seen this matchup with Islam, you know, a bigger guy who's now the welterweight champion. and Volk really held his own on the mat. Volk, you know, outside, you know, there was a second fight where Islam knocked him out with a head kick, but that was Volk coming off the couch, taking the fight on short notice. But when Volk is fully healthy, fully ready to go and fights a strong grappler, he's not really threatened by the grappling. And I think he's got a big upside here in the striking. To me, he is one of the best fighters that we have ever seen. One of the most well-rounded fighters we've ever seen. And I think we're getting value here on Volk. So I like Volk. I like him as a parlay piece, and just betting him straight up as well, I really feel strong that he's going to win this fight. Yeah, minus 110, it's rare you're going to get him at these type of odds, and he is one of the best, has one of the best takedown defenses as well. So that's the thing with Volk, he is just so well-rounded. Without being stated, the oddsmakers are expecting this to go the distance. The total is 4.5, minus 280 to the over. yeah i mean i do expect it to go along i mean you know obviously Movsar's never lost and volk is a guy that if the finish is there he will find it he has finished some guys along his title run but for the most part he's a very smart fighter he's very GSP like in that in that aspect where he does what he has to do to win these fights he's always entertaining and when the fight is on the mat if you go back and look at some of the transitions in those is is in the wow in the Islam fight uh Volk is very slick on the ground he's got very good sweeps he knows how to you know defend himself from chokes we've seen him in some very deep chokes uh in the past against very high level jujitsu guys uh so yeah i do i expect this fight to go long because Mozart is tough and um you know even if Volk is doing what i think he's going to do and controlling this fight i can easily see it going all five rounds really look forward to seeing how this uh fight plays out uh we're talking about most of our 20 and 0 guys 10 and 0 in the UFC 20 and 0 but he doesn't finish people right and that's that's always something that's just sort of lurking as well he you know he has to win via decision which kind of narrows your path to victory a little bit at least what we've seen with his history before yeah absolutely and you know he has a great record but he has fought on some some tight margins along the way i mean he's had a couple fights against guys that you know not necessarily the highest level guys where he's gone three rounds with he's dropped around he's gotten cracked a couple times um overall i mean he's shown that he's extremely durable and he knows how to win fights and that's really why he's been on this winning streak um but again like i said i mean in this spot like what's he really going to do like he's he's not really going to threaten Volk on the feet I don't worry about him submitting Volk and generally speaking he doesn't submit anybody uh he does go to a decision quite frequently and um yeah I mean the matchup with Volk it's just a tough matchup all together um so yeah I mean it's it's I feel like it goes long but I feel like it is going to be pretty one-sided here and it's funny because uh most far before was knocking people out right at M1 Global he's murdering people in the first round and head kicks and stuff but it's rare that you see this especially in a day and age too where the UFC you know they just let a guy go who was 16 and 0 because he wasn't finishing fights but when you know when you're 10 and 0 you're 10 and 0 and you've beaten everybody it is what it is but you know it's fascinating to me that he really has gone to decision in every UFC fight guys all 10 UFC fights he has gone the decision Thank you.
