it's kind of like tomato-y, it's got nice chunks of pork in it.
It's perfect for colder weather, winter time,

Over here I have chopped up my onions,
garlic and some peppers.
I'm also going to be using this kapusta with sour
cabbage. It's something that you can get in store.
There's different types
one with carrots, one without carrots.
Just choose which one you like. Here I've got a giant piece of
pork loin, so I'm just gonna chop it up into smaller pieces.
You can pretty much use any meat
but it is very traditional to have a sour cabbage soup with pork.
Because we're using loin,
it's a bit leaner than any other type of pork.
So just cut it up into smaller bite-sized pieces
and just like so. I use quite big chunks because I add one
or two pieces into my soup and meal prep
especially now that it's getting colder.
I love these types of soup, they warm you up and it's
just nice and autumny. Add a bit of oil into your pan
and we're gonna start frying our onions and
garlic with peppers first for a couple of minutes or so.
Mix it through and just wait. I kind of
just leave it for about five to seven minutes to stew I like it nice
and sort of caramelized
flavor then you want to add your vegetable
or chicken stock it's completely up to you I just
crushed mine in my hand
and I add it straight away into my vegetables and you can also add
more seasonings such as salt pepper
or any other spices that you like then we're going to start
adding our meat straight away inside
and I'm just going to mix everything together to make sure it's
nice and coated all the seasoning is distributed we're going
to cook this uh just for a few minutes
until the meat starts to um you know release some juices
the fat will be cooking so it will be nice
and delicious next after five to ten minutes we're going
to start adding our sour cabbage
so i'm using the one with carrots if you're using
the plain one you can always just add
grated carrot in there so once you've added
your sour cabbage just add a couple of liters of water
so this pot is around two liters of water
so that's how much i'm gonna add so once you've
added your cabbage first just leave it there
and then just add remaining water after that you'll
be able to mix this through a bit easier
so just kind of go ahead and mix all your stuff and we're
going to cook this for about 30 minutes
or so the soup cooks pretty quickly so just cook it on a
medium to low heat and if it starts to bubble just reduce
the heat after 30 minutes or so it's done
you can see it will actually smell amazing
in your house you will see that the cabbage has softened
and we have beautiful pork cabbage soup done
these meals freeze really well so you can freeze it up
three months and i love using it as a meal prep
because sometimes i just can't be bothered to
cook so having nice hot soup just ready um is a perfect idea for me
so this makes eight portions
um just fill it up you can obviously have it
and just eat it within a couple of days
in your fridge if you have
a big family otherwise just meal prep it and enjoy
