Van Drew, Mullock clash over economy, immigration and Iran in heated congressional debate

Incumbent Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew and Democratic challenger Zack Mullock traded sharp attacks during a congressional debate at Stockton University Thursday, where moderators repeatedly intervened to halt heated exchanges.

The debate, which at times grew contentious, featured multiple confrontations between Van Drew and Mullock as they answered questions developed with public input. Topics included affordability, gas prices, immigration, data centers and the war in Iran.

Van Drew is seeking a fifth term representing New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District. Mullock, the mayor of Cape May, is attempting to flip the Republican-leaning district.
