Improvised Bowsaw.

This is going to be my attempt to make a bow saw for a bush class, but we're on Bushcraft USA. I'm just using my Trailblazer stuff, taking down this sapling. This is an ash sapling. We've got that ash borer really bad here, so I don't feel too bad about taking it because it's going to die anyways. Plus, there's a ton of saplings and it's not that big a deal. Go on. Flexible piece. Preferably not going to break. I'll start about right here. Go on, buddy. Go on, buddy. Cut it around there. Okay. Cut it into size. I believe this is going to work. Now I've got to cut the notch in here and on this side. I'm going to use this. I'm not going to show you because I imagine it's going to take a while. I'll be right back. I already got that notch cut, and that notch cut wasn't as hard as I thought. It didn't take as long. Now hopefully, that's how it looks now. Hopefully I can bend it in without it splitting on me. Takes a little bit of finesse, I think. You made this look so easy, buddy. She's in there. Go on, scope. This is frustrating. I remember trying to do this once before a few years ago and couldn't get it for the life of me. You're snapping. Yes. Okay. It's a little bitty saw. This is that saw we just made. This is bigger than my forearm. Four inches across. Three inches across, maybe. Go on, scope. Go. Move. This tree is going to fall on you. Found some nice dry pieces of ash here. These two here. They're not the biggest in thickness, but they're really dry, and it's good wood to burn. So I'm going to just clean this up a little bit so I can make a saw table. I know it's not necessary, but I want to show the saw in action. So this piece is big. Big around anyway. That's bigger around than the pieces I'm using for firewood. So I just wanted to show it that this little saw can handle the diameter of that.
