Day in the Prairie

Ah, favorite classes in school is the tree ID. Triage it is. This is our little spot in the prairie we like to come. It's a forested spot surrounded by the prairie, a lot of tall grass and fields. Right there where Ken is. It's a down log we like to sit on and make a little fire, do our bow drill practice. Ken's wrapping his two sticks together to make the two stick fire bow set. I walked the line up. I'm not editing that part out. Doing his two stick. Nice smoke right off the bat. Look at that form. Dust it all. That looks better than mine. Don't go. Brown dust. Brown dust. Brown dust. Doesn't even feel good. JCLMD, I don't know how you did it, man, but you got one up on me, that's for sure. I'm done with this. Can't get it to go. Can't lose any better luck for that. Oh, it looks good from here. No? No, it didn't. All right, well, you got one up on both of us. All right, so now we're gonna try it with sumac. That's a nice big piece of sumac. This is one piece here, baton into two. And it's, I don't know if you can tell from the video, but it's almost got like an osage color to it. Such stinky wood, though. You're shrouded in a cloud of it. Looks good from here. It's looking like that bow drill's for him. Go on, Scout. It's nice when a dog's smashing a head with his tail. Next time I'll get a boxer, Ken. no tail Go, Scout. Get out of here. Guys, take the baton. Scout and the baton. Scout burying the baton. spindles on fire third time's not a charm all the way through stand up all play burns over there a nice little spot here too yeah I'm good on the hamster guys the only bit of color around another little sassafras stand
