An Ancient Barn Transformed Into a Modern Masterpiece in Tuscany by Rocco Borromini (House Tour)

Located in the Tuscan countryside near Anghiari, "Casa Caldesini" is a sensitive renovation of three historic rural structures by Rocco Borromini Architetto, celebrating the harmony between traditional vernacular architecture and contemporary design.
The historic estate comprises three main stone buildings: a former farmhouse with stable, a former barn, and a converted ceramics workshop, set within three hectares of olive groves and vineyards. The exterior architecture preserves its original character, enhanced only by a natural stone infinity pool overlooking the rolling Tuscan hills and stone pathways connecting the site.
Inside, restored local stone walls, ancient oak beams, and brick vaulting blend seamlessly with modern elements, including hand-spatulated natural concrete floors, a custom stainless steel kitchen island, and a minimalist suspended steel staircase. Casa Caldesini exemplifies how historical heritage and modern living can coexist in quiet, sustainable balance.
