I'm Chief Meteorologist Brian McMillan. Let's get to our October
so far, which has been very mild, only four days below average,
those blue days that you see on the screen there.
On top of that, we've had an incredibly dry October so far,
only eight hundredths of an inch of rain up to this point.
And I don't see a whole heck of a lot
of rain coming up here over the course of the next seven days.
We typically average about four inches
of rain for the month of October.
And Seattle has seen less rain than areas like Palm Springs,
San Diego and Las Vegas. So it's been
dry. As we move to the afternoon today,
we're going to be looking at our warmest day of the
week. Lots of sunshine expected tomorrow.
Expect showers to roll through. Those will be coming
through here as we get into the morning and early afternoon,
but it really breaks up. So
only the north end will see a couple hundredths of an inch
and that will be about it. I think
most of the area stays dry on Thursday.
We'll just see more clouds and cooler temperatures.
So patchy morning fog, then sunshine again.
Today will be our warmest day of the week with
highs in the mid 60s for the most part.
East of the Cascades, we're into the 70s out in Wenatchee,
Portland and Vancouver and Eugene all looking very comfortable.
Our sun will set tonight at
610 and in just one week we get our first five
o'clock hour sunsets followed quickly by our
first four o'clock hour sunsets on November 1st
and you can see in three weeks we're going to be
looking at our sun setting close to 430 so the big dark is almost here.
As we look at our seven
day forecast. It's looking pretty dry coming
up here through Friday. Our next chance for
showers arrives Saturday evening into Sunday morning. Have a great day.
