Wesley Yates III on Broken Wrist
Oct 21, 2026
A lot of guys left and you stayed put.
Yeah.
Do you feel responsible to keep the thing together?
I mean, I wouldn't say necessarily responsible.
I mean, I would say it's more who I am as a player.
Not really just the type to jump ship and leave.
Obviously,
I wanted to stay here and just prove myself right.
I would say more than anything, just prove that I am who I say I am.
Give the fans what they was missing.
And just come out here and do it myself.
Now you either broke your wrist or just injured it last-
Yeah, I broke it.
Broke it.
Yeah.
And it's incredible that you came back
and even played in the same season.
Talk, was it hard to shoot or did it hurt all the time or?
It was really hard to shoot, it actually did hurt a lot.
And you just gotta deal with it.
I knew that coming back early and coming back from injury,
It wasn't going to be easy,
but I did stay in the gym as much as I could
while obviously dealing with the pain.
But I wouldn't change it for nothing.
At the end of the day, I've got to figure it out.
I've got to get through it like injury or no injury.
If I'm out there, I've got to produce,
whether it's making plays or scoring.
So, I mean, I've got to figure it out as a player,
and I feel like that's what makes players elite,
being able to play through injuries and sacrifice for the team.
But still, you as a shooter know that when you break a wrist,
that's just toying with the merchandise.
Yeah.
And you're probably still trying to get it back, I imagine, right?
Yeah, I'm still trying, like, every day.
Every single day, still trying.
Getting up a lot of shots, you know, still go through pain,
but, like, it is what it is.
Season's here.
Can't really, you know, lay my head low on it.
Really got to stay in the right mindset.
Got to stay positive because, I mean, if I let that get to me,
And there's no chance I'd be ready to compete for my team in season.
So that's the main thing I would say is realizing that it's there,
and you gotta figure it out.
That's the part of being a pro,
and I gotta figure it out at the end of the day.
I can't do nothing about it,
control what I can control, just gotta figure it out.
Yeah.
