From Fox 5, it's time for a good night, New York.
Good evening, I'm Crystal Young.
And I'm Ryan Christopher.
Thanks so much for hanging out with us tonight here on Good Night,
New York.
Yep-er.
We got DJ D-Nice in the mix tonight, which is going to be great.
We love that guy.
He's so cool.
He is.
So chill, so talented, all the things.
All the things.
And I feel like you're, like, dressed
perfectly for Good Night, New York.
I don't know what happened to me today with these.
Did you, like, watch our show and you're like,
I'm going to match the Good Night, New York set tonight?
you know what it started with the tights that i remember
when i bought them i was like what are
you ever wearing purple tights with but this dress
is super vintage vintage and then the heels are
purple anyway i don't know sometimes it just all
comes together gold where's the oh no the the heel
is purple oh the heel is purple right can you see just
a little detail we missed yeah yeah yeah yeah
okay well if i have to kick you the purple part would go
in that's you know and that's the purple
people eater part is that little
guy right there. Okay. Well, can I show off
my outfit? Mine's all black
with a little black loafer and a
little sheer top. I love this. Wait, is this
brocade? Because you know brocade is in.
Yo, can you tell me what that means? Yeah, brocade is like
your grandma's old couch. Oh, I was going to say, I feel like
that's when I'm hanging out with the bros. Like,
yo, let's have a little brocade.
Come over for a beer or something. No, but it is
B-R-O-C-A-D-E
So if this was lime green, it would be very
like 1973 Nona
with some plastic on top.
Okay, now it's all making sense.
And see how it has texture?
Yeah.
Like, it has, like, raised parts and parts that aren't raised.
Brocade
No.
Brocade.
Brocade.
Brocade.
I got it.
Okay, see, I'm mixing words here.
But we were talking about DJ D-Nice.
Uh-huh.
And you know he opened for Jay-Z this summer?
No.
Yeah, so at Yankee Stadium.
Okay, I did not know that.
And speaking of Jay-Z, this guy's on fire right now.
Of course, he is head of Roc Nation.
Yes.
And who picks the Super Bowl halftime show performers?
He does.
He does.
Roc Nation does.
And this year, there's where he could potentially be selecting himself
to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.
How do you like that, Crystal?
So this is according to Puck News.
That would be with a P.
Okay.
According to Puck News, Jay-Z has reportedly chosen himself
as the Super Bowl 61 halftime performer.
Now, the Brooklyn rap icon who has been the one who decides
who it's going to be since 2019
was reportedly in talks with Miley Cyrus.
That would have been a decent choice.
Cool.
And Justin Bieber, although I feel
like I would have liked them together.
But he's like, nah.
And Justin performed at the FIFA World Cup.
Yes, yes, yes.
Remember?
And he had that little slow, strong with the guitar.
Yeah.
Bieber would be cool.
Bieber would be cool in the future.
I love Jay-Z.
I grew up listening to Jay-Z.
I saw him at a concert once.
It was after a Jimmy Kimmel taping.
You've been there.
You know how he tapes in Brooklyn.
Yes, yes.
And after that, we went to Barclays Center, and he performed.
This is when Tidal was first coming out.
Oh.
So that was really cool.
Listen, he's one of the GOATs.
You can argue about who's the GOAT, who's one of the GOATs.
What do you want to say, Jay-Z?
But it's probably not just going to be Jay on stage alone, right?
No, I think there'll be others that'll
be involved to make it like a big shock.
A big production.
Maybe his wife.
I've heard she's a popular performer as well.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I hope she's available.
Speaking of hip-hop superstars, LL Cool J was on the 7 p.m.
I know what you mean.
In Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony and company.
And now his comments on social media are sort of blowing up here.
Take a listen.
Okay.
I told somebody, going into comments
and trying to check somebody in the comments
is like taking a washcloth
and sticking it in mud
and trying to wash your car.
You're just rubbing mud
all over your whip.
Yo, that's not what I meant.
That's what I was saying.
Stay out of the comments.
All right, that is very interesting.
Where's the lie?
I mean, I agree.
So with that in mind,
we're talking about
how people handle social media.
So he's essentially saying,
hey, if you dive into the comments,
you get what you get.
It's going to get messy.
But don't you worry,
you internet sleuths.
We have our own responses for you,
so feel free to start tweeting, do what you got to do,
because we got to come back for you.
Let's take a look at Crystal's top three things.
She'll say back, a little clap back on social media.
Okay, well, these are really things that I hate.
Okay.
Long posts.
You know when you're scrolling
and you're scrolling and you're scrolling?
Write a book.
Right.
Get to the point.
Don't do it on social media.
If I got to scroll more than a time or two, I'm blacking out.
Bye.
All right, bye, boo.
Okay, no fighting.
I hate when people fight and go back and forth.
It's just tacky.
It is.
It's déclassé.
But what if you're trying to prove
a point and the other person keeps writing back?
Call them up.
When do you stop?
Because that's my problem.
Sometimes I'll call people out on their BS.
You know what?
Guess what?
My reply is you don't have to know
when to stop because you shouldn't start.
How's that?
If you don't start, you don't have to know when to stop.
That's right.
What's that?
Don't start, none, won't be none.
Don't start till you get enough.
Okay.
Oh, yeah.
Don't start, none, won't be none.
Relationships.
You know, yeah, okay.
You take some, I'm at the game with my boo,
my whatever, but mostly keep it private because
when you put it all out there, then
people got to comment on it. Then, like
LL Cool J said, then people got comments, you
in the comments, your feelings are hurt. Right.
So, everybody don't need to know everything
about you. I kind of like that, and I kind of agree
because we share so much of our life, work,
personal. Sometimes, I,
this past week, I took like a little weekend of
no social media, or I try my best to, because
sometimes you got to detox. 100%.
Because the haters are real, and here's my little advice
for haters out there. Okay, okay, what's your advice? Coming in at
number one. Okay. Thank you so much for your input.
these are more like direct replies you would say
these are things i would say so it's like hey
nobody asked you bro thank you
so much for your input uh love your empty profile picture because
99.9 percent of the time it's people that are commenting
with no profile picture or they have three teeth
living in their mother's basement yes drinking Yoo-hoo's
for dinner oh shoot and last but certainly
not least have a sparkling day you're just
terrific you know you gotta kill them with
kindness you know what i like that though sarcasm yeah
because then they don't know what to do with
They don't know. They're all confused. Yeah.
I said something rude. He said something nice.
What to do with this? Control delete. They like have a system restart.
They don't know how to reply. Exactly.
If you get comments you don't like,
do you delete the ones or you just you just leave them?
Leave it. But I usually will say something
because I like to stir the pot.
It's like I got nothing else going on in my life.
I might as well have some fun on social media.
OK. Yeah. I like to go like this.
I lick my finger. I think of your comment.
Oh, wow.
Do you always lick your finger like that?
Or is that just when you delete comments?
I'm like, you're going down.
And it's three of those things, huh?
That's right.
Wow.
Can we try it together?
Delete.
Five, six.
Oh, wait.
Delete.
You got to do a countdown.
I don't want to.
Three, two, one.
Delete.
Okay, we're deleting for now.
Dang.
Okay, let's talk about D-Nice, one of our faves.
He's been performing and DJing since the age of 15,
but he rose to prominence with Club Quarantine during the pandemic,
which led the Harlem-born artist to DJ at the Oscars,
the Super Bowl, Joe Biden's Inaugural Ball.
You know he gets around.
Yeah, well, how about three nights with Jay-Z
at Yankee Stadium this past summer?
Huge!
How about that?
And now we're hearing Jay-Z might be
performing at the Super Bowl halftime show.
So could this gentleman be joining him on stage?
Well, here is the legendary DJ, D-Nice.
Welcome back to Good Night, New York, sir.
Man, man, listen, if he was performing or if he is,
man, I'm definitely going to send a message like,
Hey, bro, I'm here if you need me.
Yeah, there you go.
And we're available too, you know.
You know, come on, disco ball hats, come on, we got it.
We got it all going on.
We got it all going on, man.
But this is super cool.
You're performing at Prudential Center, Rock the Bells, LL Cool J.
This is another legendary event.
Coming back around, what's it like to perform with some legends?
You got Lox on stage as well.
Yes, I have Lox.
I have David Banner, Latoya Luckett, Rhapsody.
Oh, nice.
In the overall show, we have Lil' Kim,
obviously the big dog, LL Cool J,
uh-huh red and method man uh swv
and more christmas favorites i'm excited yes you know
as a new yorker growing up and uh
and being a part of the hip-hop community since i was young
i always looked up to ll okay and like
when i got to start calling him todd
very few people get to do that and he's such a nice guy
and so genuine and he does not give
off that do you know who i am energy
no he doesn't right like just regular easy queens come through
such a he's just a wonderful person you know yeah look
at this at this uh stage in his career
he doesn't have to do rock the bells he doesn't have
to do but because of our love of the culture
yeah he's constantly like extending his hand
to other old school artists and newer artists
to just kind of bridge the gap
and that's what we hope like these shows continue to do yes and
your story is so cool you started out back
in the day sort of collaborating with KRS-One you're like
a hip-hop pioneer so it's so cool that you continue
to carry the torch in more ways than one so what
does it mean for you to be able to perform
as we mentioned those three shows yes right around where
you grew up from in front of thousands
of people sold out every night at Yankee Stadium you know
it's a it's a beautiful feeling knowing like you know
the kid from the Bronx could one I mean I
could barely afford a ticket to go to Yankee Stadium
when I was asked from you know Roc Nation
and Jay's team to open up for three nights,
it was like all I thought about,
it was very emotional, I'll be honest with you,
but I also thought about the little kid in me
and then also those little kids that,
you know, growing up there in that same neighborhood.
Yeah, just dreaming.
Yeah, they keep dreaming, you know?
And yeah, it's knowing that music
and the culture continues to give back
and pour into me.
I try to do everything that I can
to pour into the culture.
So Crystal, if you were to perform
at the Super Bowl halftime show,
what would be your set list?
Just if it could be any set list for Jay-Z.
Right.
Who would it be?
Because he's got so much to pull from.
You know what I mean?
This is true.
I mean, a good problem to have, but you're right.
There's a lot there.
How do you, with such a legendary career,
kind of confine it to 12 minutes?
I will tell you this.
If I were, if he's performing there,
and if I were to help him select that list, I would
definitely bring out Eminem doing Renegade.
Oh, okay.
I would definitely have Rihanna up there.
Yeah.
You know.
See, it's going to be Jay-Z and Friends.
It's going to be Jay-Z and Friends.
Like, you know it's not going to be just him.
You got to bring out Chris Martin.
Yes.
You know what I'm saying?
You got to make it, it's a global thing.
Right.
So we got to pour in that global love, you know.
And then I was sneaking one of those original Jay-Z songs
from Reasonable Doubt, guys.
Yes.
You can take it back to the essence.
Yes.
Something.
100%.
Doing big things.
Absolutely.
And inspiring other DJs, you know what I'm saying?
I know.
Remember, you've been a cop, man.
That's right.
That's right.
You're supposed to come out to one of my shows, man.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Oh, now I'm getting brought up.
I don't know about you.
Now it's time for a commercial break.
We got to go.
I'm kidding.
I'm kidding.
Next one.
Next one.
Next one.
Next one.
All right.
One more good night in New York when we return.
We're doing a little Halloween fun.
We got some makeup.
We got all the things.
Are we getting in costume?
Are we getting in character?
Oh, I don't know.
Leave a little mystery.
Maybe we will.
Maybe we won't.
But the head of artistry of NYX NYX, y'all call it NYX,
Professional Cosmetics,
is going to be here showing us what we can do for not a lot of money.
We love that.
Okay.
Keep it right here.
One good night, New York.
is coming right back this message halloween is just about a week away
so while you continue to
shop for that perfect costume keep something
in mind it's not all about the costume it's all about
small details right crystal oh yes small and big details
so enter Nick's professional makeup and here
to demonstrate a halloween look is their head
of artistry michelle garcia welcome to good night
new york thank you so much for having me yeah i love being
in new york welcome to new york our
lovely model as well yes jamie
my beautiful stunning model here now you guys at nicks you
have like a whole week of partying
a fun time baddie ween we're celebrating we brought all the
baddies to new york city we have some freaky
felines we have some beautiful zebra zesty zebras
so it's gonna be a full full new york takeover
so just get ready new york baddies are here which
one do you consider yourself i'm a zesty zebra you're
a zesty diva all right now halloween is
so much fun because we just get to dress up have fun now
this makeup job right here is really cool
it's like a little bit of a leopard print vibe it's
our cheetah print um what i love about this
product in this we always take over halloween
like Nick does it like no other to be honest
with you but we made it really easy accessible very easy for anyone
who is like a true makeup
artist or someone that's just like kind of starting out i want
to do something fun but i'm not so sure
what i'm doing exactly so we came out
with some really cool stencils some sfx some things that
will make it really easy for anybody to achieve the look.
Okay, so you have a couple of things laid out here.
Just talk us through what they are and how you use them.
So we have a couple of these SFX sticks,
which I love these products because they're very easy to blend.
Oh.
So you can see how easily, even with your finger,
even with a brush.
So like if you're in a rush and you have to like jam out.
Oh, no, that's normally my applicator.
Yes.
Yes, yes.
Yeah, how about you?
That's normally my applicator too.
On Tuesdays, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, okay.
But is that what you use here?
Yeah, so if you see here, we took the pink,
kind of blended it all out.
We took it into a blush.
You know, blush is really popping right now.
So we took it into the cheek, popped it into the lid,
blended it out, and gave it like a soft wash into the hairline.
In our campaign imagery, you can see we even took it into the hair.
Our hairstylist took it all the way up and made it really funky.
And let's just talk about placement.
The more modern way to do it is to really go up to where the hairline,
not to kind of go like, here's my cheek.
Yeah, you always want to give yourself a little baby pull-up, right?
So you're like going up.
You want everything to be, you know, as we get older,
we want a little pick-me-up.
Lift it up.
You don't need any of that.
You're all too beautiful.
Let's get into this makeup.
How is that done?
And then can you doll us up a little bit?
Or at least Crystal.
I was talking about your makeup already,
how jammed it looks.
F-train, girlfriend.
Just a little something.
No big deal.
So what we're going to do,
we started to prep the skin.
I mean, Jamie is so stunning
and looks gorgeous anyways.
What we did is we took the cheetah stencil,
which makes it super easy.
Very, very easy, right?
So then we take the SFX in black.
Okay.
Like I was showing you with the pink one,
it's very creamy, very easy to use.
So I'm going to turn it a little bit.
Okay.
I'm going to take the stencil.
And literally just lay it against the face.
And lay it down.
And color it in.
Grab the top.
So I do feel like anyone could do this.
Yes, exactly.
So even if it's a little messy, it's okay.
Okay.
You know, you just kind of, it's a stencil.
It's like you're, you know, in school.
I think this is easy enough.
I can do it on crystal.
Oh, you want to do that?
Yeah.
You want to try?
Yeah.
Okay, okay.
Oh, my gosh.
Which chic you like?
Which chic you like?
I like this one.
Well, I mean, they're both gorgeous, but that's the one, I think.
Okay.
All right.
Oh, my gosh.
Are we really going to do that?
I mean, why not?
No, I don't mind.
We've done crazier things.
Okay, come on.
Wait, hold on a second.
Let me clean this up for you.
Okay, okay.
All right.
Because this is going to be so fun.
Oh, my goodness.
And by the way, just after this,
whatever's about to go down here, we got Honey Baby.
She's going to be performing all in connection with NYX, right?
Yes.
guys got a lot going on part of Battyween
and we love Honey Baby, we love Honey Baby, she has been
such a part of the NYX family
and we are so blessed to have her with us there you go and you
know what I have to say about NYX, the price
is always right you guys yeah yeah yeah you don't
have to okay yeah that's good am i doing it right
that's really that's okay i like your okay okay
oh whoa whoa whoa yes am i adding too much well you can you know
the thing is it's a really creamy
product, right?
I know, you're coloring like it's a coloring ball.
Yes, a little more gentle.
Yes, come on now. You're about to be a dad.
Get with the gentle.
You need to practice for one day.
Here's the big reveal.
You ready?
Oh, yeah. Gorgina.
Are you sure I don't
look like I have some sort of disease?
I don't know. It's a little tricky, but
I appreciate the effort.
It's Halloween.
It was more of a scare than anything.
But we'll have more trick-or-treating,
more fun with NYX Honey Baby performing when we return.
That's right.
Fox.
So Honey Baby is one of the rising stars in the R&B world,
bringing raw storytelling, fearless energy,
and a big personality straight out of New Jersey.
And she was one of the first guests right here on Good Night
in New York, so we're always rooting for our hometown girl.
She's also the voice behind NYX
Baddie Ween Party Animals anthem.
Here to perform the song, Baddies is Honey Baby.

No doubt.
She's here all celebrating Baddie Ween,
but that's not the only guest, Crystal.
No, no, no.
We are also joined on the stage
by NYX global brand president, Denae Pearson.
Welcome both of you to Good Night.
Yes.
No doubt.
Tell us about this collab and how it turned into makeup and music.
Well, you know what goes better with makeup, right?
Oh, skin.

and we remember that outfit remember the little
short, flippy skirt with the little pleating.
You were doing the old school Britney Spears look.
Oh, my God.
That was a very schoolgirl.
You had some non-schoolgirl things happening
and hanging out the back.
We don't recall any of that.
Ryan really does break up all the time.
He really does.
Right.
Her skill and talent, Crystal.
Let's keep it real.
Let's clarify.
Of course.
All right, but before we wrap up the show,
of course, everybody at home wants to be a baddie.
So let's hit the instrumental.
Honey Baby, can you show us how to really be a baddie
here on Baddie Ween?
Let's get it.
We feelin' it.
Let's get these lyrics together.
Y'all ready, y'all?
