James Kaufman, World News Report Today.
This nor'easterly is going to be some ordeal.
The U.S. East Coast has avoided any
tropical developments so far this year,
but a developing nor'easter in the Atlantic just off the North Carolina
and Virginia coast
could still deliver hurricane-force winds
and heavy rain with the greatest impacts expected in the northeast.
later this week and into the weekend oh
this northeaster is going to be an ordeal the storm
will be a monster will be lashing the coast
for several days thank your lucky stars this isn't
january because it would be an epic blizzard
the storm is supposed to go on for days and pretty
much just sit over the northeast u.s
the storm will harbor 20 foot plus seas and flooding across
the northeast along with winds over 70 miles
an hour take a look at some of the forecast maps
you see here it's well heading uh inland here
this is a simulation i'm going to take a look
at some of the simulations but it's covering
the entire northeast from maine down to north carolina
really west virginia virginia uh this is quite some storm
and we're going to watch it in motion
show you all some of the different uh slides here you can see
that the barometric pressure is very
low. So this is basically a hurricane.
It's just not tropical. It's subtropical. This thing looks
like it's going to be heck. You can see Pennsylvania
and New York looking like they're going to get hit
very hard, including the Long Island area and New Jersey,
of course, here. It looks like just about
all of the northeast is going to get waylaid by this one.
I'm going to go through some winds
on windy so we can see exactly or get some timing for everybody
but this is unbelievable stuff here
this is a well forecast you can see
that this is what they're expecting to happen
and you can see
up here it takes it about 80 hours i believe 84 hours
in advance and it still hasn't really hit
ground as it just nails the northeast let's take
a look at Windy real quick and see what happens
all right we have two hurricanes in the pacific i don't think
that they'll be affecting the u.s
unless it's hawaii let's take a look at what happens
in the northeast here i'm going to call
out the days and times as we go this is today wednesday uh
and it's midnight now you can see
It's skirting the coast into Thursday here.
As you can see, it's going to just sit there.
This is Thursday at 7, 8, 9 p.m.
These hurricanes aren't going anywhere either.
This is Friday morning.
Still has not come close to making ground.
The central pressure is amazing.
I would guess winds over 75 miles per hour.
They've already guaranteed over 70 miles an hour.
uh this is saturday it's still crushing the
coast doesn't seem to want to go inland this is
sunday it's actually gonna make landfall
the central uh pressure will make landfall on sunday
and this is going into monday and it's still hammering
the east coast unbelievable now i did
noticed that this hurricane here is moving north towards
the Baja Peninsula as well. So we'll keep
an eye on that and make sure it doesn't skirt the coast
and head up towards any part of the U.S.
That said, y'all get ready up there with, well,
your raincoats at least. And remember, turn around,
Don't Drown. Please share and subscribe
and make sure to give us a thumbs up. God bless you all.
