OCTOBER CAR MARKET REPORT! Prices are Falling! Kevin Hunter
CAR PRICES KEEP FALLING—AND OCTOBER’S DISCOUNTS ARE GIVING BUYERS SOMETHING TO GET EXCITED ABOUT! 🚗💰 Before you visit a dealership, find out where the market is moving and how to use that information in your negotiations.
In The Homework Guy’s October 2026 Car Market Report, Kevin Hunter breaks down the reports from Black Book, CarGurus, J.D. Power and Cox Automotive—and explains what they mean for YOUR next car deal.
In this report:
✅ Falling wholesale values across cars, trucks and SUVs
✅ Used pickup prices showing more weakness
✅ Advertised factory cash and low-interest financing offers
✅ A sharply reduced year-end forecast for used vehicle values
✅ Why your DEALER DISCOUNT should be negotiated separately from FACTORY REBATES
A manufacturer’s rebate doesn’t tell you how much the dealership has discounted the vehicle. Know the difference before you sign!

Offers discussed vary by model, location, dates and eligibility. Factory cash and promotional financing may be alternative offers. Falling wholesale prices do not guarantee an immediate price cut on every dealership lot.
