A full body workout using a weight vest, the ultimate calisthenics challenge. I had a challenge for you all for December where you had to do the whole workout using a weight vest.
When you train with added weight, even just 20 pounds it makes the workout ALOT harder than you think, but this also makes your muscles grow bigger and stronger too.
Don’t sleep on weighted calisthenics, they are amazing for putting on size and mass with home workouts.

Welcome back to another video.
Today we are going to do a calisthenics workout followed by a two
mile run followed by an ice bath.
Except the kicker is we're doing it with a 20 pound weight
vest for the whole thing.
I want you guys to join me if you want to just follow along have a good
time or if you want to save this workout and try it yourselves later.
Let's go! And just in case
were wondering this vest is not empty i have two ballistic plates
in the vest right there and they
are pretty heavy it's about 20 pounds for the whole weight vest
so it's gonna make our whole
workout that much harder now you want to make sure that you stretch
and warm up before you do
anything like this i've already warmed up i've
already stretched earlier but make sure you do
a good warm up by the way if you guys
are interested in Viking merch check out my Viking
merch store it's not a third party it is all
from me check it out it's in the description let's get
to the workout and we will be doing this in these Vivo barefoot shoes
so these are designed to make
it seem like you're running barefoot there's
no cushion there's none of that so that's going to
give us an even better leg workout
and build up that strength in our ankles in our feet in our
legs without that typical cushion support
that most running shoes have i've been using them a lot
and i love it so be running
in these as well to make it even
harder there you go Vivo barefoot on
workout time oh now we are going to start
this workout off with push-ups and pull-ups we're
going to max out our push-ups
so we're going to go until we basically hit like 50 plus reps with
the weight vest then we're going to go straight
to the pull-up bar we're going to hit max reps
pull-ups after the pull-ups we do dips
that should give us a nice pump we go on our two mile run
and then come
back and we hit
the cold
plunge
all right
to the pull-up
bar let's go
dips and then
our two mile run starts nice
little pump before we start
and then this is what
is waiting for us
when we return nice cold water now workouts like
this are designed to obviously stimulate some
muscle growth right break down those muscles
with the calisthenics exercises and then the run is
going to work your legs and build up
that cardiovascular strength endurance get you
breathing get your lungs working oh i forgot we gotta go check
the mail on the way so we'll just
put that there we're good to go now i'm not gonna keep
the camera rolling the whole run because
what's the point of that but what we are gonna
do as a little bonus is every time we find pull-up
bars we're
gonna hit a set
of pull-ups we're
gonna keep that
back pump right
another stop
we're
gonna hit
push-ups
here train
if you don't
want to be
a skinny
another
set of
pull-ups we
said everywhere we can do pull-ups we're gonna
do them on this run i'll tell you guys what wearing
extra 20 25 pounds is no joke it makes
this whole thing way harder normally a little two mile run
all these reps would be a joke yeah 25 minute
or 25 pounds loses their mind look at that another
pull-up bar let's go
home stretch i'll
see you guys back
at the house ice
bath time all right
we're approaching the house now i like
to do a one minute cool down walk at the end of runs
especially on runs where i'm doing like fast slow
fast slow exercises like this my heart rate is
through the roof so i like to get my breathing under control
and just walk it for about half a
minute to a minute all right we are back let's get this thing off
and let's go jump into that
ice bath first things first i need to change over
into some shorts let's do this hello hello
All right, here we go.
The shittiest part of the ice bath is the first 20 seconds
You just got to get past that get in there and just breathe
Here we go
You just breathe now savage ice baths sent me
this ice bath for free.
So shout out to savage ice baths
It's only a hundred bucks for this thing,
which is a steel and it's portable
You can break it down stick it in a duffel bag
and take it wherever you go
And you just build it back up bring a little pump for this little ring
and you put it back now
I'd like to get in for two to three minutes
if you guys ever heard of the Wim Hof method check it out
It is amazing you breathe deep for 30 seconds
or 30 breaths and on the last breath
What you do is you take a deep breath exhale you let out all the air
and then you hold your breath on the exhale
You don't breathe back in and you can hold your breath without any air
in your lungs for like a minute two minutes
Sometimes it's pretty crazy and you won't even feel the urge to breathe
Once you get that feeling like you got to breathe in deep breath
And then you internal squeeze kind
of like internal pressure in your core in your body
you hold that for 15 seconds.
Now this kind of workout is amazing because you
hit that upper body, you're breaking down muscles, you're
conditioning and working muscles,
you're building endurance and you're working on
cardio all at the same time.
So you're basically hitting all three types of
styles of exercises and the more you can do it,
the longer you go, the more you'll
build your endurance. The longer you'll be able to run,
the faster you'll be able to
run, the more reps you'll be able to do.
It all carries over. So it's a great way
to train especially if you're short on time
that whole exercise probably took me 30 minutes to
complete um depending on how fast you run how far you run you can
do it at 15 minutes 20 minutes
but you get like a full body workout throwing some squats along
the way to get the legs an extra pump
really great way to train guys
and i like to finish off with a nice cold ice plunge all right
now at the end i like to just stick my head underwater
for a few seconds get that last rush
of adrenaline from the cold and then we get out
and the ice plunge the workout is over
nice little run two miles upper
body pump full body workout and
a nice cold ice bath at the end
to finish it off if you guys enjoyed the video smash
