(380) Spectacular Cells without Silicone! Acrylic Pouring Technique

I get so inspired bu other artists and always want to learn and try out new techniques. I have been very inspired by artists like Emma Lindstrom (check her out on Instagram!) and similar styles of that type of acrylic pour painting. Creating pieces with mixed media seems like so much fun and I plan on using other items, like oil based materials, to interact with the acrylic paints and see what kind of designs and textures I can create! With this piece, I used white, light blue, phthalo blue, light purple and dioxazine purple to create an abstract piece. I poured each color separately and then blew the paint (no hair dryer this time) which created some awesome cells! No silicone in this, just floetrol and water in each color. To add something a little extra, I used an oil based silver paint to try and get some interaction with the acrylics. I didn't like how it looked while it was wet, but dry it looked pretty awesome and the silver colors really pop! Overall this piece dried really nicely and I will be trying more of the style.
