I'm at the Yellowknife Racquet Club where some candidates in the municipal election are celebrating with unofficial results now in. Melissa Sire is set to be the city's next mayor. I think people recognize that it's a key moment for Yellowknife and there's lots of big decisions and lots of hard work to do in these next four years. Her win became apparent early in the night, with her opponent Garrett Cochran coming to concede defeat. The returning officer has yet to sign off on official results, but for now, Cody Drygeese, Adrienne Bell, Donnelly DeMarc, Rob Warburton, Steve Payne, Ryland Johnson, Rob Foote, and Kenesha Badu are set to make up the next council. Once the results are official, candidates will be sworn in on November 2nd. Saas Naitiak, CBC News, Yellowknife.
