5 dead in apparent murder-suicide at Mundelein home, police say

They believe the five who died are a family. They are not saying what they think happened to them, but they did say the public is not in danger. It's believed that all five were shot to death. Mundelein police were called to the scene last night at about 1145. Inside, they found the bodies of three males and two females. They also recovered two guns. They spent the night and this morning gathering evidence inside and from a couple of cars that were parked at the house, they carried out bags of evidence. This all came as a shock to community members who say the home is owned by an elderly couple. The retired veterinarian ran a cat clinic in town and neighbors said they were just wonderful people. And I'm hoping that there's some information that comes out. I'm horrified that such a kind person and active in the community, a person who was kind and active in this neighborhood in this county is such a horrifying end. And the victims have not officially been identified. The Lake County coroner says that autopsies are being performed right now. Mundelein detectives and the Lake County Major crimes task force are investigating. Reporting live in Mundelein, I'm Joni Lum, Fox Chicago.
