Let's turn back to the weather with a live look
from our Fox 5 Skycam in National Harbor this evening.
The sun has set, and Jennifer Delgado is here now
with a check on what the week looks like ahead.
Still got a pretty sunset view out there.
Yeah, we certainly did.
You know, sunset happens tonight at 6:25, and then next
weekend it's 6:19, and then it just gets earlier and earlier.
But we will change our clocks November 1st.
All right, so we look ahead for us tomorrow.
We have sunshine on the way.
We've got a lot of sunshine this week,
despite the fact that we are tracking a developing nor'easter.
Now, as we look outside, this is our camera out in west,
and I guess our sunset just went away there.
But our temperature, 59 degrees.
Our dew points are in the 20s, and it's very dry air in place.
And with those dew points being very low,
that means for tomorrow morning,
temperatures are going to be back into the 30s
in some locations as well as some lower 40s.
But our temperatures are in the 50s and 60s, 62 degrees.
in Quantico. You are a warm spot, 57 degrees in Frederick.
And we're actually running about
5 degrees warmer than we were this time yesterday.
That combined with the lighter winds made
for a much better afternoon.
But now we look at the cold weather alerts outside. This is
the area that we have the freeze warning,
far off towards the west. As we look at the
region in blue, that is our frost advisory.
And those are where we'll have temperatures
in the lower 30s. And that means sensitive plants.
They're certainly going to be in danger.
But we know the growing season west of I-81, it's over with now
as of today, this morning, because of those low temperatures.
Satellite radar dry and quiet for us.
This is the developing nor'easter.
It doesn't look that impressive right now,
but we'll get some more moisture out of it developing
and more rainfall as we go through tomorrow.
But this is an area that the National Hurricane Center
is actually watching for a 30% chance of development.
Now, this is a region wide
Because it is in sort of a warmer area with the waters,
there is that potential for some development.
Does it become a system?
Likely, very not.
Very likely.
But the temperature of those waters makes a big factor.
But it would be just a thing
That would be the next weather.
Now, as we look at this and we take it into our futurecast,
we want to show you how tomorrow it starts to get more organized.
You see that rainfall being more pushed to the west,
asymmetrical, very typical when we're talking about nor'easters.
Now, as it tracks up to the north a bit more by Tuesday,
it's going to get that circulation better defined.
Then it will continue to kind of sit and spin across this region.
It'll eventually start to pull away as we head
into Thursday as well as into Friday.
But what it's going to do is have a lot of impacts
for areas including southern Virginia, like the Norfolk area,
as well as into Nags Head and then potentially into Jersey.
This is going to lead some of the strong northeasterly winds.
and that is why we have some of the coastal flood advisories
as well as some of the warnings that
are in place a lot of these are going
to go until about Wednesday now closer to home we go tonight
these are the low temperatures 30s for a lot
of regions 41 for DC the same for Quantico 39 in
Fredericksburg and then we look ahead
for tomorrow afternoon high temperatures are going to climb
into the upper 60s 66 for a high in DC 67
in Dale City 67 in Leesburg down towards the south and
east uh temperatures also in the mid
to upper 60s today we only got to 62 degrees so we're getting
closer to the average which is 69
and then we'll kind of see those temperatures hanging in the 60s
as we move through the rest of the week
but Cumberland very close to 70 and then 68 degrees
in Martinsburg so that's look at the forecast we check the bus stop
so the kids are going to want
to go out the door tomorrow morning they're
not going to want to put on pants they're going to
be saying i'm not cold but at the bus stop uh temperature should
be around 45 degrees and
after school 67 with the sunset tomorrow
at 6:24 now here's look at your seven day forecast we have
66 for a high tomorrow Tuesday warming up
to 68 partly sunny skies on Tuesday but lots of sunshine
it looks like we're going to be dry all the way through next week Katie
and potentially even as
we go into early next week as well
so uh it's a nice dry trend that we're on we just uh you know
we want to see how things take with that nor'easter
no rain in sight for now i'll take it thanks Jim
