Hey everyone, thanks for logging on to my Fox Hurricane.
I'm meteorologist Valerie Mills. We have a new area
of interest for tropical development right off the East Coast.
30% chance for something to form over the next seven days
as we have an area of low pressure that's formed right off
the coastline of the Carolinas associated with this cold front
that's been moving across the country over the last few days.
A very typical setup during the fall months,
especially as we can get a non tropical
low that may try and detach from these frontal boundaries
and could end up taking on some
subtropical or tropical characteristics in the week ahead.
So nothing happening here in the next
two days, but we'll be watching this here
as it slowly kind of hangs out just off the coast
of the mid-Atlantic and tracks maybe toward the northeast,
but it's going to be moving very slowly,
kind of meandering here in the Atlantic for the next few days.
So you can see some sort of broad
rotation and regardless of any sort
of tropical development out of this the next several days
it is going to be bringing impacts to the Atlantic coast we
are talking pretty rough surf conditions
a lot of wave action is going
to be possible especially right near the North Carolina coastline
near the Outer Banks and some
of those more vulnerable spots to coastal erosion so we'll
watch for those high waves some coastal flooding
and some of that will be possible here through
the next several days as we keep tabs
on this for development our next name in line
is Josephine and we'll keep you updated right here on my Fox Hurricane
