'Mean' pitbull is actually the biggest baby

He looks like a tough, mean pitbull, but when you get to know him, he's the biggest baby. He's just about scared of everything. A huge Mack truck can be coming by and he won't be scared of it, but I'll take out a piece of tin foil and he'll think it's coming to attack him. He also has an obsession with cars, which is really weird. So anytime we're walking in the city and a car door opens, he thinks we're also getting into the car. And so he'll run up to the car and try and get in it. And I'll have to be like, nope, not what we're doing today. I adopted Baki in the end of September of 2023 through Muddy Paws in New York City. His picture came up on the Muddy Paws site and he had these big, crazy ears. And the second I saw that, I knew I had to meet him. He originally came from Kentucky. The owner could no longer afford him. So he came to me pretty emaciated, but I don't know if there's more to it because he did come to me with some scars on him. He's so cute. And they basically brought him off of the van to come meet me and instantly tail wagging. I just fell in love with the way he was so eager to just be with a human and be loved. He was just a ball of energy. He didn't really know how to play with toys. So I would get him a whole bunch of toys and just seeing him realize that he likes the squeaky one. He doesn't want to go get a toy and bring it to you. He wants to take whatever you're holding. So he has taken out cartons of milk. He's taken massive bags and held them by the handles. He'll take just about anything you're holding and he'll just run around with it and do his little tippy taps with it. I love you so much. When he is getting ready to go to bed, he wants to go head first down into the covers. I've had dog sitters be like, I'm so worried, can he breathe? The birthday! He met my partner about two years ago and sometimes I swear I get jealous because he loves him. Sometimes I think more than me. He'll put his paws on top of his shoulder and just lick his entire face when he sees him. Baki doesn't always love men. He's a little scared of them, but seeing the way he is with my partner is just the most special thing.
