Well, be sure to double-check
your route before you head out for your weekend plans.
That's because the MTA
is replacing decades-old switches on train tracks,
and that means big changes for riders.
Here's Mike LaMoure with what you need to know.
The MTA says these repairs are critical
to keeping trains moving across the system,
but for riders here in Brooklyn,
that means some weekend trains are being replaced by shuttle buses.
Crews are replacing aging switches south of Marcy Avenue,
infrastructure that helps trains
move between local and express tracks.
The work will affect J&M services over five weekends,
that's every weekend except Halloween
weekend through November 23rd.
From late Saturday night through Sunday evening,
shuttle buses will replace trains between
Myrtle Avenue, Broadway and Essex Street.
The MTA says riders can also use the L train or transfer between
the A and C trains at Broadway Junction to get to and from Manhattan.
But some commuters say navigating the changes.
Frustrating. They don't say anything.
The MTA says riders should check the MTA app before leaving home
to check for updated changes in services.
We're in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn tonight.
