Falcons DC Jeff Ulbrich on Chicago Bears Defense

Yeah, I mean, there's very little weakness to his offense. It starts with the run game. Obviously, they're number one in the rush for the entire league, and it's not a real close second, in my opinion, to what they do. The level of precision, execution, scheme is elite, but then you combine that with a real style of play, physicality, a finish. so they're going to test you schematically technically and physically and everything in between so it's a it's a great challenge in that way yeah I mean there's there's countless challenges to tell you the truth like he's he's got his staples and and what they do every week they do at the highest level you know and you can tell there's high level precision there's great coaching there's great detail and like I already said there's a great you know style of play that that comes with all that, which is very unique in my opinion. And then there's this other part of the offense that's very designer feeling from the standpoint of like he's going on deep dives to really figure out the rules of your defense. And then, all right, where do you play what? And then within those windows, how can I challenge those defensive principles? So it's one of those things, you've got to keep moving the target and keep moving the stress point and you got to be very diligent about what you're calling and when you're calling it so it's going to be a great challenge for the players it's going to be a great challenge for our coaches and myself as well that to me it's like they say front side wins games backside win championships the same thing for defense for offense like the great offense is their backside which typically that's like the 70 play for some offensive players like i just got to cut this guy off like they take it to another space where it's i'm going to cut you off I'm going to put you into the ground and I'm going to go second level and cut that guy off as well so our backside pursuit our cutback players we have to fight the crossover we have to have great discipline in that way and we got to trust that the front side is going to take care of their job you know but they do a great job on the backside and that I really think that's part of their style of play
