Today, Austin Webber with Fox 7 meteorologist Adelie Rowe.
Mother Nature finally putting the burr in October.
I mean, the beginning of the month started out
with temperatures below average.
The last time we had below average temperatures was just yesterday
was all the way back on the 4th.
And then we had a long stretch of warmer than average
and even the 90s day after day.
I was getting sick of it.
And I'm sure you were, too.
That cold front came through yesterday morning,
brought us some very comfortable temperatures.
We had that low of 56, should be right around 61 for this time of year,
only warmed up into the mid-70s.
We should be about 83 climatologically,
and today we'll be below average as well.
That cold front is continuing to push over to the east,
bringing some showers and some storms along with it.
But here in the Lone Star State,
we've got just a little bit of cloud cover here and there.
You can see some of that from our Hyatt Regency sky camera.
Just an absolutely beautiful sunrise.
We're very lucky that this weather's happening on the weekend,
so you can get out there and enjoy it.
Some of us are in the 40s this morning,
and more of us will be tomorrow morning.
We're 46 in Mason, 47 in Burnet, same story in Georgetown,
Rockdale, 50 in Giddings, same story over in Bastrop.
And those winds, they're continuing to come in from the north.
At about 5 to 15, we had some gusts, 45, 50 miles an hour yesterday.
Don't have to worry about that today.
Early this morning, we could be seeing some gusts around 25,
maybe up to 30 miles an hour.
But as we get into the afternoon and evening, and especially tomorrow,
you'll notice those winds will continue to weaken.
So that's some good news.
And I'm sure lots of dogs are excited.
This is Molly.
She lives in Bastrop.
She says she loves happy hour with her family
and enjoying that on the porch.
They live off of the Colorado River,
so I'm sure they're getting out there and making the most out of it.
And you don't have to worry about your dog's paws today,
but still make sure that they've got plenty of water.
We'll only be warming up into the upper 60s later on this afternoon.
Some of us in the hill country in the lower 60s for highs today.
And then looking forward to tomorrow morning,
I'm thinking area-wide that we're going to be in the 40s.
Some spots even getting close to the upper 30s.
So fingers crossed that plays out, that'd be pretty exciting.
And then by the time we get into the afternoon,
we've got some 70s to look forward to,
lower to mid and some spots staying in the upper 60s.
So below average temperatures all weekend long
make the most out of it
because we're gonna get pretty close to average
and by the end of the forecast for these next several days,
we're gonna be right back into those lower 90s.
And the humidity is going to rise as well.
Not trying to share bad news,
But I'm just saying, get out there
and enjoy this wonderful weather as much as you can this weekend
because things are going to change in the week ahead.
And when it comes to rainfall,
it looks like things are going to be dry,
not just through Wednesday, but your entire seven-day forecast.
But if you're ready for some rain, 8 to 14 days out,
it does look like we're going to be wetter than average
as we get closer to Halloween
and also a little bit warmer than average.
I know, it kind of seems like the new average.
It's been really fun talking about how it's been chilly for a change.
And we'll get to enjoy that today and tomorrow.
By the time we get into Monday,
we're going to be right back into the 80s.
And then slowly warm up by next Friday.
We're going to be right around 90.
So get out there, make the most out of it,
and have a wonderful weekend.
