Look at that smoke. You know, you got to think about what is in a home.
I mean, you got to imagine these people have probably lived here
for several years. There's lots of belongings, lots
of different kinds of furniture that unfortunately can be flammable.
And I think that's what we're seeing right here
as we just see these really intense flames.
But I want to touch on what you were talking about before with Adam.
Every fire I've covered since being here since those 2025 wildfires,
that I think is the image.
And we certainly know when our region is scarred, especially the
the people who live in the Palisades and the Eaton fire zones,
but every fire up to yesterday
in Azusa and Malibu, that is what people think,
and that's what people are so afraid of happening
to their neighborhoods. We hear it from everybody,
oh my gosh, that's the first thing I thought
of was Eaton fire, Palisades fire.
Again, this is just horrible, horrible to watch. Look
at all the smoke. It's absolutely awful to watch,
to your point, and you can see that
But there's heavier smoke coming now,
heavier black smoke as well from that home to your point.
Obviously, when you have things in your home that are potentially
flammable, because we all do, you have your belongings.
And so that's probably what we're seeing right now,
that thick black smoke.
And as we also bring in the view from SkyFox,
you can really see that shot as well as it is zoomed out there.
this entire area that is being impacted
by the Northay fire that right now stands at 465 acres.
That was the last number that we got
from Orange County Fire Authority. But again,
they're extremely busy in this firefight,
so there could be an updated number. We're going
to continue to check in on that. Let me actually see.
Watch Duty has that same number right now.
They also have 465 acres with 0% containment
at this time with the Northay fire. So
It looks like we are back in the other neighborhood,
which is Villa La Mirada, where homes were also burned.
And it appeared that about four homes
in that neighborhood were burned from the Northay fire.
And then, of course, taking a live look here, where is Nick Garcia's
shot, where you are on Glacomora Lane right now in San Juan Capistrano.
And I know before you were showing us that there were a number
of people on the hillside just really watching this firefight.
Yeah, I would imagine they're still out there.
What I'm looking at now is just this small hillside next
to the home where we see the fire crews on the ground here.
I know there's at least a couple hoses.
Here comes another one.
Putting water onto this house, doing whatever they can.
You know, we've got to know these are very large homes.
Unfortunately, a lot of fuel.
I'm hearing some crashing.
Yeah. Hopefully all those firefighters are okay.
I'm hearing some crashing, so I've got to
assume that some of the integrity of this building,
obviously compromised by these flames,
and some of that framework is coming down.
I'm seeing some of this roof right here closer to us
that we saw the smoke billowing out from earlier.
It's crumbling now. So this is just horrible,
horrible to watch, but these firefighters
are doing all that they can. They have not stopped
putting water on this and trying to keep up
with the winds that have continued to really,
really make these flames just go to really high levels.
Coco, we've seen some intense flames here
and just all of this smoke. Intense flames for sure.
We're seeing that right now from Skyfox,
the view from above. And to your point of hearing some crashing,
at least the shot that we have
right now from Skyfox,
you can see that a portion of that roof has collapsed because of these
flames. So maybe that's what you were hearing.
And obviously, we hope that firefighters are okay.
They're so brave out there battling these flames.
We know that this is a multi-agency effort because
you're seeing Orange County Fire Authority right next to you.
But I believe on the way you mentioned
that you also saw some crews from Huntington Beach as well.
Oh yeah, Huntington Beach, Anaheim,
Fullerton. Definitely a multi-agency fight here.
It doesn't surprise me at all that part of this
roof has collapsed. That's certainly what we heard.
Thankfully, that is what so often these
firefighters are trained for.
We truly have the best and most trained firefighters possibly in
the country because of the fire that we see here.
And they know they've got a plan for those
situations, keeping the crews safe as well
and getting them away from structures that could come
down on them, of course,
assuming that all lives have been saved from the home.
This one, I've got to imagine
with almost 100 percent certainty that nobody is left
inside of this home, and that's why crews
are able to stay outside of it and not be
putting themselves in any more harm's way than they need to.
