Here it comes, Kim. Here it comes.
Second plane. Here it comes. It's coming. It's coming.
Oh, this is exciting.
So I have to see who we can spot getting off the plane.
They're going to be greeted, Kim,
to a very Milwaukee-like temperature after leaving L.A.
It's chilly out there.
It's chilly and it's windy,
to remind you of just how close we are to Lake Michigan
and that it is indeed cooler near the lake.
This has just been, and the Brewers organization has
been fabulous from top to bottom.
You know, knowing the interest
in folks wanting to welcome home the Brewers,
they wanted us to have the opportunity to be here,
and so they've just made it very possible
and just been very accommodating for us.
We, you know, had to do a little cloak
and dagger to get to this position,
but for a reason, you know, security is important.
And so here we see the plane coming into view,
and there's the water cannon.
Oh, let's see it. Oh, that is so cool.
The water cannon in aviation it
is a tradition among pilots and airport
officials this is a sign of respect
and celebration of airports and so we're
seeing that from the General Mitchell
International Airport Fire Department.
Wow what a sight. And then you see the flag
and the front up that's coming out
of the window I believe that's a Brewers flag.
I believe that they're waving the
Brewers flag. That's definitely the brew crew.
Your National League
championship winners are back in Milwaukee they are back in Milwaukee
experience these
are your Brewers
and here they
are game one
of the World
Series is one week from today they've wrapped up the National League
Championship Series they don't know
who they're gonna play yet Kim it's either
gonna be Cleveland or Tampa Bay
and the American League teams were supposed to
play in Cleveland tonight they're delayed
because of rain because of all
the rain we had yesterday that's moving into the Cleveland area.
I can, you know, weather is just,
it affects air traffic so profoundly.
And so something that happens across the country can,
you know, have an effect here. I'm not sure what
the situation was with the Brewers,
but we got a couple different arrival times.
So we were expecting them, you know, before five
o'clock initially. And so I'm not sure what the delay was,
if it was, you know, something out
west but they're home they've touched down
and now we are just waiting to see those Brewers we're
seeing the uh airport vehicle now approach
the plane um and we're going to see shortly those
players emerge from that United flight
and now if we can pan to the right we see a series of um
coaches that are arriving i was wondering
if any officials would be there to meet them you know
Sometimes when we have, like, presidential VP,
VPs, people meet them on the tarmac.
But here's the thing, Kim.
Everyone who would meet them on the tarmac was already out
in Los Angeles with the team watching the game.
Exactly.
Exactly.
So the MVPs, they're on the plane.
They're on the plane right now.
But these guys just have got to be feeling
on top of the world to be home.
It's one thing to win on the road.
Okay, Ben, we've got some people getting on the plane.
Those look like airport officials.
I think those are airline officials getting the stairs all set up.
We're going to find out who has to sit in the back of the plane.
Okay, so now we're told we can move closer.
So we are moving.
And we'll be with you here with the move here.
Okay, so we were kept, this was about maybe two blocks away.
We're on the tarmac, but we're about a distance of two blocks.
And so now this has been in stages.
We're getting closer and closer.
So now this is the first time where we're actually allowed
this close to the action.
Are there any fans, like, very far away that you can see or hear?
Are they so far, Kim, that?
They are so far behind.
You know, there is a hangar
that is really blocking their view.
But they just knew that something was going on.
They saw a lot of sheriff's vehicles, saw a lot of airport vehicles.
And so, you know, they put two and two together.
I figured the Brewers must be returning.
They also know about FlightAware.
So, you know, they did their research.
And they'll be cheering on the buses as they go by.
They will, yeah.
Can we just swing just a little bit?
I just want to show some of the media that is here.
So, again, we were escorted.
We didn't just show up.
And so we grouped off into four vehicles.
So you see all these news crews.
up and now we get some of the uh i thought i would start
the chance okay not yet okay but i'm ready
and there's Pat Murphy oh i don't see him
on the screen yet you see him you see you see him see him
Pat Murphy there's Pat there's
Pat Murphy one by one we see
the Brewers here's some of the coaches
there's Mark okay Mark Antonaccio that's
the Brewer's owner right there that's the Brewer's
And look at him. He's a Los Angeles native.
Look, he's got a winter hat, ready to go.
Yeah, ready to go. I don't blame him. I don't blame him.
There's the GM.
These are coaches right here coming off.
These are all part of Pat Murphy's crew and team
and some of the Brewers' upper management here.
Wow.
Mike Vassallo, he's in the PR department
just walking off the plane there.
So these are some of the PR people and some of the photographers.
I think, look, they're being handed winter hats, Kim.
Wow.
Smart move from the Brewers.
one-bit smart move and they yeah they
say NLCS of course and this is a lot of
congratulations behind
the camera Mark Antonaccio is being greeted by airport
workers shaking hands lots of congratulations as we continue to see
Brewers members of the Brewers organization deplane and here we go
Here come, we're getting closer to the players
That's funny that they're like
in the back you know absolutely well the cool kids
are always in the back yeah you gotta gossip
about the teachers in the front right right look
at the hat series it says World Series on them
Garrett Mitchell I think is the first Brewer off oh
no World Series you're right World Series world
series excuse me and
they've run out of hats
apparently they've run
out of hats Brandon
Woodruff I think there and then you're seeing uh some
of the pitchers here that's Gasser there's
the Miz the Miz there's the Miz the Miz you can't miss
the Miz Kim he's like the tallest guy on
the team okay oh what's he holding there oh I
thought I thought he might be a trophy it looks
like it's just a package of yeah it's like a lunchbox
or a boombox not really sure there's
McGill Trevor McGill the closer just went off
on the left I think we're getting so we got some more
those hats? World Series? Okay.
There's Trevor McGill just picked one up there. Very cool.
There's Mays. Dustin Mays came from the Cardinals just pitching
the last game. William Contreras
on your screen right there, the catcher.
There's Lara. And Churio right behind him. Churio's
carrying his own luggage down.
Should that even be allowed?
David Hamilton. There's Garrett
Mitchell. Wow, coming with the t-shirt.
Is he cold? I can tell you it's cold out here.
It's 50 degrees or so, but, you know, I bet up.
Christian Yelich.
Yep, Joey Ortiz right in front of him.
I think that was Vaughn who just swung on by.
And there you have it.
And now this is the flight crew.
Okay, we're going to swing the camera.
Kim, how cool, the flight crew's all decked out in Milwaukee gear.
All decked out in Milwaukee gear.
And so the Brewers are now loaded on those coaches.
You see there's plenty of airport staff.
Not sure if we're going to get any kind of availability.
from Murph or the players, but we're standing by.
I think that's Sal Frelick right in front of you.
Yes.
Oh, wait.
Okay, so we were told we cannot, no interviews.
We're just told no interviews.
Okay.
So we were told that,
you know,
it might not be possible to speak with any
of the players of the team tonight.
Who's with the shot, though?
I like Sal Frelick's drip there, all in white.
Yeah.
You know, it's funny because Sal Frelick's a Massachusetts guy,
And he comes out, and he looked like winter garb.
Garrett Mitchell, I believe he's a California guy,
and he came out just in a T-shirt.
I bet they are just running on such a high
that they're not feeling their temperatures.
Look where Murph sits. Can you see in there?
Yes.
This goes back to what you were saying,
who's in the front and who's in the back?
Right. The cool kids, always in the back.
And if you're wondering why we're not closer, again,
we are respecting the guidelines that we have been given.
and so we're staying behind this invisible line,
but we've been given just such access here to even be this close
to see the Brewers up close and personal return home,
and there they go.
Kim, I think these players are going
to return to a different Milwaukee.
This was a crazed baseball town before they left for Los Angeles.
Do you think they're prepared for how bonkers we've been going here?
I don't think that they are.
You know, we're talking again,
it's been 44 years since Milwaukee has had a World Series team.
And like before these, a lot of these players were even born,
but the fans were here.
And so we remember that it's been that long.
And so I think they're just going to be overwhelmed with this,
you know, in a good way of the outpouring of support
and excitement around this team.
so and I have a feeling some of the people
who have camped out they I mean
there are fans who know where these buses
are gonna go out and they're gonna
shout and show their signs
when these guys leave the airport and you hear the
emergency vehicles sounding their alarms again
in respect saying welcome home
this is so cool this doesn't it's
so cool I mean you remember as a kid when
you would see like a big rig or a fire engine
and you try to get them to like
you know flash their lights or beep they just got that
