All right. Good day, Atlanta viewers.
I have some news to share with you next Wednesday,
October 21st will be my last day here on Good Day Atlanta at Fox Five.
And, uh, it's very
bittersweet. The bitter part being, um,
it's been 14 years of being a part of you guys' lives
and you guys supporting me for all those 14 years.
I've always felt a lot of love, uh,
from all of our viewers out there,
even through maybe some tough times in the beginning,
you guys stood behind me and was very, very supportive.
I'm going to miss delivering the
news to you guys every morning.
Sometimes the news isn't so pleasant, but we try to make sure
that we do put some pleasant stuff in your morning
to get your morning started. And that's
been something that I would not replace
or change for anything in the world. I'm still going to be
here in Atlanta, I'm going to still do stuff for the Braves.
I'm going to dust off the golf clubs,
spend some time down at the beach, that kind of thing.
I will be pretty busy, so you won't
get rid of me completely. I'll be around for sure.
You'll see me around. The sweet part is that I
will be able to move on to the next step of my life.
Got a lot of things going on, a lot of
important things going on. I'll be back
and forth to Texas to see my family there. So it's going to
be a lot of fun to spend time with my family and take care of them.
Um, but again, from the bottom
of my heart, you guys have just been awesome.
I've, I've heard from a lot of different viewers on
social media. I've been out in the public
and people have come up to me and tell me how much
they enjoy watching all of our team.
And it's not just me, it's our entire team. The other thing is,
this is completely my decision.
Um, you know, uh, last year I lost my father and I started
thinking after that, um, I hadn't spent enough time with my family,
my mom, that kind of thing.
So, um, you know, everyone here from the top
to the bottom has been really, really gracious to me
and, um, nothing but positive.
And, you know, all the people here, they want me to stay,
but I made the decision. It is time.
Um, and, um, it, it was, it was a hard decision. So
again, from the bottom of my heart, um,
I know that, um, the Good Day team, they're in good
hands you're gonna you know you're gonna love you know continue
to love the team and whoever steps
into uh into my role uh you're gonna love
also um so i'm not worried about that you guys are
gonna really enjoy that and they're gonna
be a part of your morning every morning and uh and
you're gonna feel uh like you're a part of the family
but again from the bottom of my heart
thank you guys so much you've been so supportive
um and i wish every one of you atlanta's my home
I'm from Texas originally, but Atlanta's my home.
I've been actually here in Atlanta longer than I grew up in Texas.
So you're always going to be a part of my life no matter what.
And I thank you again from the bottom of my heart for all the support
and love that you've shown me over the years.
And it's been 14 years, but it's been 14 great years.
So thank you so much and God bless.
