I always get asked where to purchase outdoor gear from, in this video I show some new gear I got in 2019 from moosejaw.com . This gear will assist me in all of my outdoor pursuits, from bushcraft to canoe tripping, and in all seasons.
How you guys doing? Thanks for tuning in.
This is going to be a little bit of a different video.
I've got a bunch of gear from the company Moose Jaw.
I always get asked questions,
Joe, where do you buy your gear from?
That all depends. You can buy different types of gear
from different places. Specialty gear for specialty places.
Moose Jaw is a place that
has everything. It has everything for camping.
It has kittens. It doesn't have kittens. The
kittens enjoy the boxes. This is our new Bengal Honey.
This is Emerald's Bengal Kitten Honey.
She's a pretty cool cat as cats go Bengals
are pretty pretty nifty pretty cool cats
Anyways, this is sponsored video by Moose Jaw. Moose Jaw is a
Online company that I like to buy my stuff from they sent me
a bunch of gear in order to show you guys just the
Type of stuff that they do have so I got multiple boxes.
I got this box about three weeks ago
It's crazy where I live things get a little turned around,
but finally got all the stuff in
yeah let's show it
so I've been using these snowshoes already this is one of
the things I got these are Atlas snowshoes
and they're a size 30 they've
been working well for the longest time I had
a pair of tubs and I don't really
like the end of it for digging this this point
is pretty awesome you know when
you kind of go into the snow
and dig out a shelter spot or a spot for fire
whatever you want to do my other ones
were very rounded just as round as up
there and didn't do a good job
these are cool I like the color scheme and
everything the binding system works
really well as well you guys have seen
these on my last two
or three videos this cat is in play mode right now so
yeah so stuff I got stuff for all seasons right I got some NRS neoprene
stuff this is gonna come in handy
when I go canoeing in the springtime go fishing
stuff like that so again to reiterate
my point winter right loving them let's
open this so they let me pick out what I wanted I had
a budget and these were
definitely something I want I think
Sean Sean James has a pair of these or
oh or something similar he was showing me
so these are at NRS that's the
company and they're
a neoprene breathable bibbed pants with socks like
with built-in Gore-Tex socks it might
not be neoprene maybe it's Gore-Tex more
Gore-Tex than anything but it's got the the ah
the suspenders this cat man do not mess my new pants
up bro they've got um velcro to tighten the cuff
these will keep your feet dry ish inside your
shoes uh yeah i'm excited to try it out oh
my goodness this cat is wild excited to try these
out oh look at these these are gonna make
my life good too um these are neoprene hiking shoes like
they're they're solid I don't know
that I would wear socks with these depending
on the time of year yeah maybe
not I can't get my foot in them with socks
stinky feet but they have the whole inside
is neoprene for sure okay so that
took some doing they're on there pretty tight
but as you can see they come up
past my ankle they're robust they have laces
and a velcro so I'm excited to use
these I'm excited to try these out again
this is all spring stuff right like it's
going to be the best time for trout fishing
is going to be as soon as the
water opens up right as soon as the ice
is out yes we're gonna get them off
we're gonna get them off there we go anyways did
that cat take my sock so just when the ice is
out water's freezing if you guys remember a couple of years a couple of
Mays back a couple years ago in May I did
that five-day Algonquin thing by
myself. It didn't stop raining the whole time.
I was cold. I was very cold. Excuse me. So anyways,
springtime stuff as well.
To go with those pants, I got this Vortex shirt. Yeah, it's got to be
Vortex, not neoprene in the pants.
It's super bright, but it goes with the pants. It has a
drawstring. The bill will be under and it'll stay pretty dry.
This is lightweight. This is lighter
weight than my raincoat, but it doesn't have a hood.
It has a zipper in the side, a little pocket
the side zipper again i'm so ready for spring uh what else
do i get in here oh i got some new gloves
and that's it for that one so my new gloves are marmot
and they're they're like a combination
between my my leather ones
and my ski ones they're a leather palm they have a nylon backing
pretty good uh insulation as well have not used
these obviously the only thing i've used so far
as those snow shoes and I like them I like them a lot
so let's open up this
small box they're cool to deal
with to their boxes always say weird things like
this one says moose job backpacking
climbing French kissing trail running
and mountaineering
the other one
no knife use teeth use
your teeth no way
what is this Copper Spur rain fly
this is just the rain fly for a two-person
Big Agnes tent okay okay so let's hope that the tent's in
this one right it
makes sense watch
out kitten this is
highly needed I
used bushes on the last trip
and it was an oldie I still have it actually I've
got to give back to them okay look
at that that's a decent decent shovel more
shovel talk more shovel talk that's cool
so this will extend and it'll come apart from packing if
you want to do that this is a Backcountry Access
brand it'll come right off and everything i like
the shovel scoop part of the shovel on this one yeah cool
that'll be coming into use soon i gotta
go out and start building a shelter and uh i need one
of these that's perfect my Via Terra my Via
even pants. These are Vita Pros.
Vita Pro in a weird blue
And Doug, this does have the axe loops
or the axe pockets still. Doug just got a pair of Vita Pros
He was disappointed they didn't have
the axe pocket. This pocket unbuckles or snaps at the bottom as well.
And then a little hatchet can
get slid down through there.
Or you can put like a Laplander or Silky Saw in there. Anyway,
they're blue they are blue quite blue okay
so there's the therein lies the
problem unless I'm missing a box this is only
the rain fly of the tent oh they
told me I had to wait on the tent it was back ordered
and remember now what is
this hiking boots or hiking shoes it's
a Merrell's Merrell's they're leather
they're a mid hiker good too that's more
of a summer this is our light light
hiker like there's not much to them
be more of a midsummer type thing but
anyways just a quick little video guys so you know what I'm always
anticipating new trips I'm always trying
to like figure out the gear for new
trips and stuff like that right now it's
winter time right and I've seen a few
comments and I feel the same way it's
like yeah everybody's doing the same
type of stuff and that's what I
do in the winter time I go out and I do the
bushcraft overnighters I do like a build
of shelter type thing but you gotta
remember every single year change every
single season changes every year for me
this year in the spring i'll
be doing canoe trips again backpacking trips into the summer
more extended things and then
and then into the fall more wilderness living again
i did that big wilderness living 10 day alone thing
in the spring last year
this year will be dedicated to canoe tripping
and fishing and stuff like that more of
distance type stuff so i'm really looking forward
to that type of stuff too
canoe tripping is my absolute favorite
that's my favorite pastime out in the woods
um maybe i'll be able to bring this guy out
in the canoe in the back with me yeah so all of this
gear lends itself towards that right i got i got snowshoes i got
a shovel for the winter i got
those pants i can use probably three seasons
those boots those uh gore-tex stuff and then
when my big agnes tent comes in this is for the copper spur right
and that's a cool tent this is
a two-man a two-man uh rainfly for the copper spur
so i'll have a lot more room in my tent
If Scout's feeling up to it,
I can bring him without having to have him lay on top of me.
Yeah, very cool.
All different seasons, all different types
of gear for different outdoor pursuits.
It doesn't have to be camping only.
You know what I mean?
A lot of these Gore-Tex stuff, that's a day thing if you wanted to do.
Whatever.
The point is, Moose Jaw has you covered.
So, my goodness.
I'm going to put this stuff away and I'll be right back.
So you can find all these products at MooseJaw.com.
Get outdoors this season.
Thanks for watching, guys.
