The farm offers a variety of family-friendly autumn activities, including a themed corn maze, interactive games, and animal encounters, as well as specialized \"Fright Nights\" for those seeking a spookier experience.
From haunted hay rides to spooky corn mazes,
the annual fall festival at this Bay Area farm
has returned for another season,
and they're getting into the Halloween spirit now.
In this week's Drone Zone, we head to Hernando County.
FOX 13 photojournalist Albert Gamboa takes us
up over Harvest Moon Fun Farm in Masaryktown.
This is our peak season.
This is one of our main seasons, and it's just the feel of the
environment of having something fun
and different to do that you can't do all year round.
Hi my name is Christina and welcome to Harvest Moon Fun Farm.
So Harvest Moon Fun Farm we made our first appearance in 2013
and so we've been doing our fall festival since then.
So we start with the corn maze with the ideas of their design
and everything. We start that probably brainstorming in June.
This year is a Spookly the Square correlation design,
so the corn maze is a five acre corn maze and really
getting through the maze really depends on each individual,
on you know, how you get lost in there,
you make wrong turns, things like that.
There is two mazes in one, so we have a bigger maze
and then we also have a smaller kitty maze.
In the kitty maze you can read the Spookly Square
Pumpkin story to get through that.
I think it's just the the idea that it's a one time a year
type of thing something to you know
to have to figure out as a brainstorm to
figure out how to get out and we physically do it so I think it's just
something that's just fun adventurous
and something to have fun with the
family with the ball zone is kind of like
a carnival game but farm themed you
throw basketballs footballs baseballs young
and old have a blast with that
Pedal carts are just like little farm-themed tricycles on four wheels.
They pedal around, can race,
but you have to actually physically do the work with your legs.
You know, we can have the adults go
on the jumping pillow along with the kids.
If you want to go on as a family, air gets blown up underneath it.
It's kind of like a bounce house except for no walls on it.
And you can fit a bunch of people on there.
It's 70-foot long, colorful, and it's just a lot of fun.
Hayride is a good five-minute ride,
and you go actually take a ride around
the pathway where our Haunted for our Fright Nights is.
So we have some things that you can see for daytime.
You might see some of the spooky stuff
that you're going to see at night.
And then we have some nice farm-themed songs
that you can listen to and have some fun on it.
If you're not bringing kids,
we also have a silo bar where we offer adult drinks.
So that's always a blast.
We have a hayride petting farm where you can visit the animals.
We have a couple of new baby members in the petting farm.
We have our new baby Highland calf, her name is Miss Mango,
and then we also have our baby llama.
He was actually born here on the farm,
and his name is Puck, very, very sweet, both of
them.
It may seem like it's a farm ride,
but we're just a mile off the Funcoast, right off of
41, so it's easy access to get to,
and once you get here, it's just a fun day full of
fun activities and memories.
Harvest Moon Fun Farm also has haunted nights available
on the weekends with three haunted trails and the nighttime corn maze.
Just remember, bring your flashlight.
