Nordstrom Rack returning to SF

Yeah, a lot of people welcoming us. Remember, it was three years ago that Nordstrom left, and now we've learned that Nordstrom Rack will be back at Market in Stockton. To Stockton, the former site of a Virgin Megastore and more recently a Forever 21, now sits empty, but not for long. Another huge retail announcement down in downtown San Francisco, Nordstrom Rack. It's coming to Stockton, 50,000 square feet. Nordstrom closed its flagship store and rack locations in the summer of 2023, blaming declining foot traffic. The new Nordstrom Rack will be at the same intersection as Ross, which has been a staple in the area, and Uniqlo, which just opened last Friday, taking over space abandoned by Old Navy. Nordstrom's CEO confirming the rack will be back. Quote, we're excited to bring Nordstrom Rack back downtown. The city has many wonderful assets, and it has clearly built momentum in making downtown a great place for customers. It's about time, right? I think we have been waiting for Nordstrom to just even make an announcement, whether it's Nordstrom coming back to Union Square or the Rack coming back to Union Square. Marissa Rodriguez from the Union Square Alliance said the return of the Rack is just the latest sign of consumer confidence in the area. She said the addition of the Nordstrom Rack cements the reputation of Union Square as a shopping destination. Powell Street is going to be home to some of our favorite brands. This is that epicenter. This is the heart of San Francisco. This is where we come to celebrate life's greatest moments. We come for high tea with mom, and we come to celebrate the holidays, and absolutely, we come here to shop. Customers agree they came to shop. It's cool down here. They got a bunch of little stuff, you feel me? I just got some Supreme. They got some stuff, and they need a little bit more. And while there are plenty of high-end shopping options, customers said there's definitely a place for more budget-friendly options like Nordstrom Rack. I'm really excited, but honestly, we're here mainly for the Ross, and these are two more expensive options, and I think we could use some more affordable options, too.
