Oh, 53,000 and change,
the largest crowd for a baseball game in the Major Leagues this year.
And except for a few random Brewers fans,
everybody's leaving in sort of stunned disbelief.
Let me try to talk to a couple of folks live here.
What do you think?
I think that the Dodgers would have won,
but Ohtani's injured and Kiki was swinging at straight dirt.
Yeah.
You optimistic that they can pull that out or no?
No.
What do you think?
I mean, you've been watching the Dodgers for a long time.
Robert should have kept a tab on Snell.
He had him at 90 pitches, and the next two pitches, three runs.
They took the lead on the Will Smith double,
and then boom, back-to-back home runs.
Within two pitches, he had three runs.
That was tough.
All right, well, we're keeping our fingers crossed for tomorrow, right?
Yes.
This is an excellent look.
We're done.
You're done?
We're done?
We're done.
There's no chance?
Nope.
Because Milwaukee's playing better?
They're a really good team, and we're not doing nothing batting-wise.
Yeah.
Ohtani, Freeman, Betts, they're not doing nothing.
Yeah, except to win when you're not producing the runs.
What do you think, sir?
Let's see tomorrow.
Let's see tomorrow.
If we win tomorrow, we have a chance.
Sure.
Of course.
But, I mean, the way it's been going,
the Dodgers aren't playing their best ball.
But always the last thing is the last chance.
All right.
Well, Glenn, Christine, you know, it's not impossible.
It's only been done once, as Kyle just mentioned.
I'll give you $20 for that hat after we finish, all right?
So tomorrow, Tyler Glasnow, perhaps.
Is it impossible?
No.
Is it unlikely?
Yes.
But the Dodger fans, you know, they left here pretty disappointed.
By the way, in case you're keeping track, the Brewers, they're hungry.
In their history, they've never won a World Series.
So, you know, is this their year?
Could very well be.
They're playing better than the Dodgers.
There's no doubt about that.
No, they had 103 wins, as Kyle pointed out.
They were the best team in the National League this year,
and it's just the way it is.
So you've been there all day giving us coverage before
the game, during the game.
Did you ever see the fan energy pick up?
Well, sure.
I mean, after the Will Smith double
that gave him the lead, the place was fired up.
And then the next inning, boom, back-to-back home runs.
Like the air went right out of the balloon.
I mean, it's been, you know, it's been a very frustrating series
for Dodger fans who, you know, want to believe.
Yeah, well, you talked to four of them and only one of them did.
Yeah, we're going to have more in the 9 o'clock hour, too.
I mean, you know, nobody is, like, real optimistic here.
Okay.
All right.
Thanks so much.
Reporting live there, Dodger Stadium.
More news when we come back.
