Let's Talk About... Babymetal

Hey guys, it's Patsy Patty. How are you? I hope everybody is doing well. Yes, I am still under the weather. That's horrible, by the way, for me. But guess what? We have an exciting new thing that we're doing. And I'm doing a little bit deep dive into each group. And guess what? Babymetal is up. Babymetal, you've changed my life. You know, we started with three, then went to two, and then we're back to three. and you know metal enthusiasts i'm telling you if you don't know who baby metal is you're gonna fall in love with them today we're just going to take you know time do a little deep dive into the fusion of uh j-pop and metal and we'll see how baby metal has taken a world by storm i'm sorry about my voice you know i just apparently i'm just my fever's going up but who cares it's baby metal so the band formed in 2010 okay originally we have uh three lineup we got sue moa and then yui by the way and it was just a concept creating the fusion of heavy metal and like um you know japanese idol originally they were a sub unit of a japanese idol band um sakura gakuen probably saying that wrong um but babymetal became independent after um nakamoto departed you know from the band um so here's a fact um that i learned babymetal released their album in february 2014 and then their second album metal resistance by the way which is phenomenal um was released worldwide april 2016 which was great if you don't have that you should get it by the way and then uh they embarked in several tours but we're gonna go like a regroup uh so i'm just like kind of like you know going ahead of myself okay so the band formed uh in 2010 in Tokyo Japan so it was a fusion of you know like a sort of like a j-pop and heavy metal but this was kind of unique because you know uh it was not you know you don't put those two together if you think about it you know does really place j-pop and metal go together actually it does because guess what baby metal uh was formed and it impacted the global metal scene amazing so once again you know we have the trio you have su-metal you have yui and then moa by the way very talented brought together uh under you know the management um company amuse um incorporated and you know if you go back in the old you know some of their old songs excuse me you know the concept was like a blend of like the sweetness of like uh you know j-pop uh vocals with intense metal and trust me very very great songs you know but uh it birthed like a new genre all right so babymetal gained international attention by the way they went viral with this phenomenal song give me chocolate give me chocolate in 2014 great great song by the way and this marked a breakthrough for us for us being me by the way okay to have a kawaii metal kawaii metal apparently I can't speak because I am like insane right now one of Babymetal's defining feature is their dance move I would say the C word but apparently I can't speak someone's gonna say you know their their dance move so it's a mix of metal inspired movements with traditional idol dance okay phenomenal if you don't know once again you should check out the live performance and guess what here's a sneak preview of their unique dance move Yes, I can't say the C word because apparently I have a fever going on. Babymetal has impacted us in a different way, okay? They've conquered Japan. They conquered, you know, us worldwide. You know, they have played in a very iconic, you know, Wembley Arena and, you know, other places. And I have to say, they have, you know, changed us in a different genre. and it you know transcends you know different borders so let's check this out so the lineup you know uh you saw you know changes over the year so unfortunately Yui departed you know from us in 2018 and you know so went from three to two so now we only have Su-metal and Moa but it's okay because you know the band evolved you know and i like that about Babymetal you know um were you know we sat to see um Yui um departed yes but her health is important guys just remember that and when i was doing my journey you know i read you know some you know you know um stuff about the fans and it was you know very supportive other than it's just like heartbroken but hey the band has to evolve so Babymetal's collaboration spirit has led to unique partnerships including a great Rob from Judas Priest by the way love him he's phenomenal so their ability to just you know bridge different cultures and genre you know has made you know J-pop and metal two great genre exploration or unique genre that's why we love them so let's get back to our third member um so I'm going to talk a little bit about that so you know um who is she who do you think she is it's Momo she's wonderful and I love her so we went from three to two back to three so um what do i feel about her i'll let you know about that but let's go back so Baby Metal has ignited something very important can you really define metal guys realistically you know they put J-pop and metal together so some of the challenges or discussions that i've seen you know like all over the place okay have really said can you really define the traditional metal you actually can't okay Baby Metal has influenced the metal culture so different so my question to you is can you really define metal you actually can't it's always evolving okay so as we conclude this journey i am very captivated about Baby Metal i am still learning about them i love the fact that you can put two different genres and you create this wonderful wonderful band and um i wanted to say they have changed my life tremendously um and i'm gonna go into three songs that has changed my life okay the first one is definitely the one okay i love that song the second one is Road of Resistance Encore and then um No Rain No Rainbow okay i love that and we'll probably talk about that song and also i wanted to mention by the way did you ever order this if you don't it's okay i actually have an extra one let me know just reach out to me but um if i go to loudsounds.com you know 20 greatest songs are on there for BabyMetal and one of them i just said No Rain No Rainbow okay Metal Resistance 2016 so this song was inspired by Guns and Roses you know the epic November Rain if you haven't heard tell you it's just an emotional punch you should get it okay another one of course is the one okay Metal Resistance 2016 by the way those songs are amazing um and if you did not check out my other uh reaction BabyMetal death um you should check it out but yeah i have to say my journey with them is still growing and i'm learning a lot because i am playing catch up with them but it's great because you have BabyMetal uh you know um who is always changing the way um you know the definition of metal and i think adding Momo uh you know back so we're back to three is phenomenal and she's very talented you know so you have Su who's great you have Moa and then you have um Moa, three girls who are redefining what metal is and that's what i like about them i should break down each one you know with their history that'll be a definitely a sub sub um i guess deep dive but other than that i hope uh you know that you continue your journey with me on BabyMetal i love them you know they have inspired me to do a lot and uh i think i like metal more than now than what i've ever had before so i'm telling you they're on my list constantly all right guys do me a favor if you like this video hit the like button and don't forget to hit the bell down below it's our Cozy Cup Club don't forget to join along with my merch follow me follow them by the way what is your best song for BabyMetal and how did it change your life so let me know and by the way can you really define them no you can't besides that they are amazing fantastic and phenomenal and they're just breaking barriers other than that guys i'll see you next time
