Hey guys, MatsuPaddy, how are you?
Hello, fellow enthusiasts. I hope everybody is doing well.
Welcome to MatsuPaddy YouTube channel.
We're going to do something different today.
We're going to actually do a deep dive
into an extraordinary symphonic band, Nightwish.
Have you heard of them? Amazing. Great genre.
And I love it because it's so unique.
um and it's something different it's
my passion they have changed the way that um how i see
symphonic music um originally in 1996 they
were formed in Kitee Finland i'm hoping saying that
correctly you know it's they
are an amazing symphonic powerhouse um you know where do i
start how do i actually introduce Nightwish
because they're so unique they have such a unique
oh my gosh i don't even know how to say it sound about them
and you know um originally three
founding um members so you have Tomas you have um Erno
or info i hope i know i'm saying that wrong
so i apologize about that and of course our lovely vocalist Tarja
so between those three you know you
merge them together not only you have metal you have
um opera you have orchestra elements it's
a wide range of sound you know Tomas being
a phenomenal keyboardist you just have a unique
sound which captivate me myself
and obviously it captivate you know all the audience worldwide
so it's just something different about power metal
and you know symphonic metal so unique and
then especially Tarja's voice is phenomenal i love
her uh she has such an you know a wide range too
and she brought something different you know
um to you know to the genre so this is my journey
and i'm very excited to you know share how
um or what i think about um Nightwish and also this is
um like a deep dive into the um you know Nightwish um journey
because you know it's so magnificent
when you find a great band
and then you're like okay i want to learn a little bit more about them
So, you know, let's check out their unique, you know,
dimensions and the moments that we appreciate,
you know, all of these particular leads, by the way.
And of course, Nightwish being, you know, an everlasting,
evolving band, you know, first you have Tarja and then you have Anette.
And then, of course, the current leading singer is Floor.
i know all these you know um young uh women they're
so young i can say that
um brought a unique sound to Nightwish
and so here's a clip of all three of them and keep
in mind they're all different
and great amazing right oh my gosh i just love all three you know
at the core of Nightwish um you know
their signature sound is so unique in the you know
know the fusion between you know the orchestra
and the opera and the metal has just changed the
way and Tuomas is such a phenomenal composer especially
on one of my favorite song which
is the Shoemaker and we'll talk about that later
but it's bringing fantasy and you know the love
of you know of just literature
and such a great you know landscape of different genre you know
just transcending and you combine it
and you have such a distinctive sound yes I'm very glad
what Nightwish is not, no, because I really love them
so you know Nightwish live, which I have not
seen yet and I missed because they were only like 45 minutes away
but keep in mind hey I will have
to catch them on the next one
but Nightwish live, you know what I see you know between the stage
set up and the stunning visuals their concert is very impressive
and you just all the fans are
really immersed of the sound
and I just could just imagine just being there live so you know
the influence of Nightwish you know in symphonic genre is just
so beautiful and important because
it inspired countless bands okay to push
the boundaries of great symphonic metal and um you
know you have some great bands that's coming out
and you know um Nightwish you know has impacted
you know this genre just like
an epic tale you know Nightwish faces challenges we all do you
know along the journey um you know between the lineup change
and just the creative differences
and of course you know the lead um you know I feel
that Nightwish has emerged to be a stronger band
their resilience is not to give up you know their music is evolving
and that makes it great you know
there was a controversy that I read that you know Nightwish
is not the same as like from 1996 of
course not they're not going
to be the same you have different members you have you know um just
different growth. And, you know, it's their journey.
And their sound has evolved to be
such a beautiful tale in itself.
And I felt that, you know, these challenges, you know,
shape Nightwish. You know,
I can't really express how much Nightwish has, you know, changed me. So
yeah you know i have to say one thing um you know
as we conclude you know um Nightwish is really
phenomenal and it's you know their legacy you know
um their tapestry has woven into the passion
and talent and creativity you know amongst myself
and amongst other band so i want to talk a little
about one song it's the Shoemaker
and if you have not checked my video on that i i literally cried
i cried so much
but you know Nightwish has inspired you know for this particular song
a great great man his Dr. Eugene Shoemaker he's
um you know he's a founder of astrology
Science Center. I had to look this up just to confirm it,
but the story and the actual composition
of this, you know, within two minutes,
you know, the way Tuomas has totally, you know,
composed this, you know, between the heavy metal,
the riffs, you know, the poem, okay, and just the
opera itself within like less than two minutes
the song is beautiful guys it's just one of those
beautiful songs that Nightwish has just you know performed
and and i love it to this day i love
this song so can i put Nightwish in all
this you know um like eight to ten minutes no i can't
because there's you know they have such passion um you know for music
and you know they have given
us so much so yes their music will continue to evolve yet to evolve
and yes the band will
continue to evolve and it's just an epic journey
and i you know i might do a little deep dive into
like each individual you know person possibly will see how
this goes okay um other than that
