Spokesman for the U.S. Department of State Tommy Pigott joined NTD’s Steve Lance to discuss Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s meeting with exiled Venezuelan leader Dinorah Figuera, the historic progress the State Department is seeing in Venezuelan talks, and the benefits to the American people.
Pigott also discussed how independent Venezuelan institutions, such as the Supreme Court, can instill trust among the Venezuelan people, particularly in the adjudication of election disputes.
He said the United States has seen efforts to ensure that the country’s oil revenue benefits the Venezuelan people and emphasized the importance of U.S. support for the hard work that remains to be done in Venezuela.
