Three is the time. MEA weekend is now in full swing across Minnesota.
And most schools have
today and tomorrow off, so teachers can attend
their annual conference. And so that means lots
of people heading out of town right now.
Hannah Flood has a look at the MSP airport rush this
morning. Good morning. Yeah, good morning.
Airport officials expect about 16 percent more people to
go through security today than on a normal Thursday.
Let's take you live inside MSP this
morning. To show you right now,
all TSA security checkpoints are 10 minutes or less. The pre-check
line at Terminal 2 is under five minutes
and not too many flight disruptions either so far this
morning. We're tracking 16 delays and four cancellations,
but you can see people are
getting ready to get out of town.
And because of the extra days off from school, this weekend has
traditionally been one of the busiest times
of the year at the airport. Many parents and many
teachers say they look forward to this fall break from school.
It kind of marks the first major
break of the school year of course it's not just airports
that get busy a lot of families hitting
the road and Lauren will be tracking traffic here
in just a couple of minutes and Shannu and Tom I'll
just throw out too if you are at the mall
at the pumpkin patch at the whatever and you notice it's
busier than normal yes that is why if you feel like there
are children everywhere it's because
they are not in school for the next couple
of days yeah it's that time of year and it's like
very Minnesotan weekend. All right. Thanks, Hannah.
It is 634. An 11 year old boy hit while
riding an electric scooter. Sadly has died.
It happened a week ago at the intersection of 40th
Street North and Paradise Avenue North in Baytown Township.
The boy identified as Kai Yu was taken
to the hospital in critical condition.
Officials tell Fox 9 he died Saturday.
an investigation into this incident continues right 6 35 now
an investigation is underway in
Wisconsin after a deadly plane crash
our sky fox chopper captured this video of that wreckage in
the town of uh Delana that's just west
of the Wisconsin Dells area there so this happened
Tuesday night the plane was headed from Kenosha to Menominee
when the pilot made contact with
air traffic control to report icing and ask to descend.
That was approved and then communication
was lost. All six people on board the plane
were killed including a child. Their identities have
not been released at this time but we know both the FAA
and the NTSB are helping investigate this crash.
