Announced that the nonprofit organization Men Opposing Sex Trafficking
or MOST has done it again.
Ron, they set a fifth world record.
This is amazing.
This time they did it on a golf course in up in Calhoun.
That's in Gordon County.
Here's a look at the final two shots.
There you
have it.
That was MOST support team member Nate Green tapping in the final putt.
He and founder Bruce Deal played 40 hours, 22 minutes and five seconds
of golf, only being allowed five minutes of break time per hour.
They started out trying to play six hours straight
to get 30 minute breaks, but that didn't last too long.
So Deal says that they shifted to four hours
of consecutive play with 20 minute breaks.
But they both tell us it was the support from community members
and their loved ones that kept them going.
About 18 hours in, my body went, hey, this might be a bit much.
And so I started, Nate and I had some conversations where I'm like,
I may just be walking with you for half of this and give up the golf.
And really on a private, personal note,
my wife showed up and walked the next 21 hours with me.
We had some volunteer opportunities,
you know, four, five, six people at a time.
And I don't think we ever played with less than 12 to 15 people.
It was just constantly there all night, all day.
Other people that stayed on site the whole time
to make sure that we were well taken care of.
Well, Deal says their painstaking effort paid off
in raising awareness for sex trafficking
victims and the work his organization does to rescue them.
They also managed to raise
$300,000. And so far, MOST have set world records
for the longest softball, basketball,
kickball, and dodgeball games, raising about $2 million.
What a great cause, but they're almost
superhuman to me. I mean, that is absolutely amazing.
I guess that's what happens when you
have a mission you believe in. Yeah, well,
they definitely believe in it, that's for sure.
