Miron Zownir was born in Germany in 1952. He took up his radical style of street photography in the late 70s during the peak of the punk ear in West Berlin, London and then in New York.

Zownir's work remains a benchmark in the field of social and artistic photo documentation. He has championed misfits and dreamers who live out their lives a long way beneath the radar of "acceptable" society.
