Flooded streets, damage in Libya as heavy rains paralyse capital

Severe flooding has impacted a city center, affecting critical infrastructure including the central hospital. Despite seasonal efforts by local authorities to clear drainage systems and manholes of desert sand, heavy rainfall forecasted by the National Meteorological Center led to widespread flooding in streets and low-lying areas.
