Building a Ming Stool Using Only Joinery — No Nails, No Screws.

In this woodworking project, I build a traditional Ming-style stool using pure mortise and tenon joinery — no metal fasteners, no hidden screws.

This video documents the complete furniture build process, from layout and stock preparation to final assembly and finishing. Every joint is precisely measured, cut, and fitted to achieve structural stability using classical Chinese woodworking techniques.

If you enjoy detailed woodworking builds and traditional craftsmanship, this project explores:

• Layout marking and proportion planning
• Mortise and tenon joint layout and cutting
• Curved apron shaping
• Traditional Ming leg structure
• Frame assembly and structural locking
• Precision fitting and alignment
• Final sanding and finishing

Ming furniture is known for its simplicity, balance, and structural clarity. Instead of decorative excess, it focuses on proportion, precision, and craftsmanship.

This stool reflects those timeless principles through pure joinery construction.
