I visited Dean Village hoping to capture it surrounded by beautiful autumn colours 🍂🤍… but I think I was just a little too early 😂. The leaves are only beginning to change, but honestly, Dean Village is beautiful in every season.

Dean Village sits along the Water of Leith, around 1 mile from Edinburgh city centre and roughly a 20–25 minute walk from Princes Street.

Once known as the “Water of Leith Village,” this peaceful area was a centre for grain milling for centuries, with mills powered by the river. Today, its old stone buildings, bridges and riverside paths make it one of Edinburgh’s most picturesque places.

You can walk here easily from the city centre, or take buses serving the nearby Queensferry Road/Dean Bridge area, including services such as 19, 43 and 47 depending on where you’re travelling from. It’s always worth checking the current route before travelling.
