The Island Nobody Knows About | Winter Van Life [ep 8]

While travelling through Scotland in my van, I discovered something pretty cool. You can take a ferry from Oban to the Isle of Kerrera for just £3! In this video I leave the van behind and take the short ferry ride across to one of Scotland’s hidden islands. Kerrera sits just off the west coast of the Scottish Highlands and feels like stepping back in time. I spend the day exploring the island on foot, walking quiet tracks, taking in incredible coastal views, and discovering just how peaceful this place really is. The route around Kerrera is roughly 12 miles, taking you past rugged coastline, quiet farmland, and one of the island’s most incredible sights — Gylen Castle, an abandoned castle perched dramatically on the cliffs above the sea. Solo van life in Scotland often leads to unexpected adventures like this.
