Montreal food tour — We're eating 100 years of the Canada's most legendary food in one day with Luke Martin of @LukeMartin including the bagel debate that began in 1919, Schwartz's smoked meat since 1928, a sandwich with rules you can't break since 1932, and real old-school Quebec poutine!

Some call Montreal the best food city in Canada — and today we're going to find out why?

We start in Mile End with the great Montreal bagel debate: St-Viateur Bagel (since 1957) versus Fairmount Bagel (since 1919), the family that started it all. Then the dish Quebec was built on — fèves au lard, beans, lard, and maple, unchanged since 1938 at La Binerie Mont-Royal. Next, the Wilensky's Special at Wilensky's Light Lunch, a sandwich with strict rules since 1932, then the most famous deli in Canada: Schwartz's, where smoked meat is cured ten days, smoked every morning, and hand-carved exactly as it was in 1928. And we finish with the original old-school Quebec poutine at a tiny 1958 diner that still brews its own spruce beer!
