Inside a 16,000 Sqft. Family's Dream Home Built for Generations | Home Tour | @ArchPro

This house designed by Kamouflage is not organized around rooms, it is organized around a family’s way of gathering.
Set in Karukutty, Ernakulam, The Floating Deck House is built as a generational estate rather than a conventional residence. The architecture translates inherited Suriani Kerala traditions and European spatial ideas into a single continuous system of living, gathering, and celebrating.
At the heart of the design is a strong central spine that connects three distinct spatial zones. Instead of fragmenting the house into isolated functions, the planning allows movement to become the primary experience, linking family living, shared events, and recreational areas into one continuous narrative.
The site’s natural slope is used as a structural advantage rather than a constraint. The entry level holds the core family spaces, while the lower level opens toward recreation and landscape, allowing the house to extend into the terrain without disturbing it.
A defining spatial anchor is the floating deck, positioned to overlook the green expanse beyond the site. Alongside it, a mature Ficus tree becomes more than landscape, it acts as a living focal point for gatherings, rituals, and everyday family life.
What makes the house distinct is not scale, but intent: every space is designed to hold continuity across generations. The architecture is less about completing a form and more about maintaining a living framework for memory, festivals, and shared time.
