Here, I demonstrate the restoration of a miniature painting—executed in oil on a copper plate—by an unknown artist (likely Dutch) from the second half of the 17th century.

The process involved localized consolidation of the ground and paint layers, filling in areas of paint loss, removing overpainting and darkened varnish, applying inpainting (retouching), and coating the work with a protective varnish layer. The miniature has been restored to an exhibition-ready state, honoring the artist's original intent.
